Sampled at the hellbilly holiday tasting. Hazy amber gold color with a fluffy lasting head. Light fruit and yeast in the aroma. Flavor of caramel malt, sweet fruit, a bit of yeast and hops on the dryish finish. Smooth on the palate. Pretty good stuff.

Sample courtesy of superdave70 at hellbilly*s holiday tasting. Pours a hazy amber with a fluffy white head. Nose is yeasty, funky and fruity. Taste is funk, sweet malt, fruits and some floral hops. Medium dry mouth feel. Nice beer. Thanks Dave!

This was a little underwhelming. Poured a cloudy yellow with a decent white head. Flavor is alcohol meets hops to make a bitter pungent mouth feel. Does have a good body but would love a little more malt balance and presence.

VRBT. Very happy to get to try this one. Medium, hazy orange yellow. Sweet malt aroma. Full bodied, dominated by light malts, a hint of brett, and some undefined fruitiness. Nice, but nothing really leapt out at me. I wanted more oomph somewhere.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma of melon and spices with slight tart undertones. Flavor of spices, some vegetal notes, and Belgian yeast. Heavy mouthfeel, fairly warming too. I dont detect any Brett here. Kind of a disappointment, as this was just a regular, run-of-the-mill, uninspiring Belgian strong ale.

Bottle. Aroma of citrus (I think both esters and hops), more orange/red fruits, some grassy hops, bittering hops, sweet pastry malt, light but slowly growing bretty notes. Flavor remains more sweet than bitter despite the hopping, with the hops just adding a little different take on a beer that would otherwise be yeast-based. The brett again is there but struggles to make its presence known. I would have liked more of the brett, and in general I just didn’t find the hopping interesting enough to make this one all that special. Nonetheless, a good beer.

Pours from 750 ml a murky, coppery-orange color with a full, white, rocky, fluffy head which settles fairly quickly to an average, creamy layer and leaves minimal sporadic lace. Flavour is that of smooth and light, with a slick finish of french bread crust and plum preserves. Grassy hop, sour fruit, then of raw hops, yeast, and malt goodness. Lovely bitter hops, balanced nicely by light caramel malts and a bit of fruit. Simply delicious.
