Bottle massive thanks to the cheeseman for this one, at home with mesandsim. First batch i believe. Aroma is bursting with Brett, like it basically just spells like Orval, small peppery character, floural and sharp. Its well tasty stuff, earthy hop softness with the sharpness of the brett makes it incredibly drinkable.

Sampled at Lost Abbey for RBSG 08. Pours a hazy, amber-gold with a white ring. Very lemony aroma, with malt and a hint of something herbal. Taste is sweet, of citrus, with sharper hops notes. Nice carbonation. Lingering sharpness. Very tasty and interesting.

Sampled at Lost Abbey, RBSG ’08. Slightly hazy, deep golden with a white head. Light dough, lemon, fruity and some herbal character that I can’t quite pinpoint in the nose. Flavor has notes of light brett, pale brewing malt, lemon, herbs, noble hops (but the beer claims to have simcoe and amarillo), slight tinge of sweetness, white grapes/wine and a dry finish. Medium to light bodied; very crisp and effervescent. Well-attenuated. Nice beer.

Wow. I split this beer with my sister, but it was great. Pours a cloudy brown with a medium off white head. Has a nice belgian yeast smell and some fruit. The hops are actually present and add a bit of bitterness. Has some nice orange peel flavor in there as well. Very smooth and a good example of the style.

Bottle into chalice. Pours a cloudy orange-brown with visible effervescence and a creamy beige head. Nose is spicy yeast and citrus, bit of candy sweetness in there also, and a slightly fruity funkiness as well. Taste starts off with a big yeasty component pairing with a subdued candy sweetness, with citrus emerging from the hops not long after, and a big, round barnyard funk making a statement on the yeasty finish. Notes of over-ripe apricots are noticeable as well. A light hop bitterness lingering on the palate is noticeable a bit into the glass. Mouthfeel is very lightly carbonated, with a moderate, slick feel. Quite interesting, a lot of stuff going on, but nothing that jumps out to overwhelm.

Bottle, thanks sersdf. Clear reddish amber color. Heavy flemish sour - overripe fruit, slightly metallic, meaty, funkiness. I’m missing the oak in this. A very belgian take on the style. Pithy, cherries, musty, light wood, apple juice.
