UPDATED: MAY 14, 2008 Like an American ale brewed in Belgium. Pours a light honey-amber with a decent, though fairly quickly dissipating head. Aroma of caramel malts and hops, with notes of vanilla. Palate is very Belgian - the carbonation is effervescent, but certainly not over-the-top like many Belgians can be. Flavor is mostly bitter hops, balanced nicely by light caramel malts and a bit of fruit. Dry. Delicious. Wish I could find something like it for less than $13.

Picked this up at Ted’s Butcherblock in Charleston, SC. Pours a golden orange with a huge white head. The aroma has notes of brick oven baked bread, corriander, and sweet citrous. Bitter finish from the generous hopping. Very good.

UPDATED: OCT 15, 2008 Pours a golden copper orange color with a massive rocky white head. Aroma has hints of honey and tons of flowery hops. A pleasure to drink. Sweet for a fleeting moment before stripping any and all phlegm from your mouth and throat with earthy bitterness. Suddenly, a burst of sweet pineapple juice re-moistens the palate and sends you face first into another sip. Fuck yeah!

750 ml bottle. Average grainy and frutiy aroma. Cabinated gold body with a creamy white head that stayed on top of body of beer, Flavor was average for a belgiun yeasty grain and some fruit. Alright with a bitter bite and seemed to have an alcohol effect on body. Denent brew.

Bottle at Trappeze. Pours a cloudy orange with a large head. Aroma of yeast, citrus, spice, and hop. Taste is a nice collaboration with plenty of hops mixed nicely into a yeasty belgian brew. Taste of hops, yeast, spice, fruit, funk, and citrus. Mouth is relatively light and smooth. A solid brew.

great! picked up at the Carlsbad PP shop: i initially gathered an aroma of spice (reminiscent of pumpkin), citrus (lemon--acidic quality), wheat, and almonds; the body is hazy, orange-straw, orange highlight, with a soapy white head that leaves little lace; the flavor hides the alcohol well, and has a more floral, less spicy quality than what the aroma initially provided; smooth and creamy; highly enjoyable though not what i expected for a "Belgian Strong Ale" because this *seemed* lighter, and *seemed* more appropriate for, well, but anyway... it’s great and more SoCal brewers need to collaborate with Europe.

750ml bottle pours hazy golden yellow with a soft white head, looks and smells delicious, with a green, dried hop leaf and stinky cheese funk in the nose, and a funky feet and BO-like cheesy flavor, along with a wonderful dry grassy green hop flavor and a moderate to heavy bitterness for such a style.

Very foamy - a loose white head sit atop a cloudy orange brew. Smells very fruity and herbal, mixed in with a lot of funky notes. Lots of fruit and white wine notes in the flavor, plus more herbal notes. A really great brew. Sampled at the Raleigh WBF.
