750 mL bottle, corked and caged...aged sample, perhaps 2 years? pours copper, fairly clear until the dregs are poured in, with a modest off tan cream. Doughy aroma that is pleasant, but not as fruity and bright as I remember the fresh sample. Bretty flavours that have clearly dulled with the age, but offer some wonderful oaky sourness and subdued and relaxed barnyard flavours that are only possible with this kind of age (not to mention down right hard to accomplish any time. Though I would rate this slightly higher fresh, I have to give this beer loads of credit for surviving and thriving in my cellar for quite some time.

[3418-20101002] 1pt9.4floz bottle. Fruity yeast aroma with mild strawberry shortcake cereal. Hazy, bright orange body with a quick foamy off-white head. Light marmalade flavour has thick citrus hops and quite a lot of seed. Medium body. Good balance, refined but still quite a boozy sipper.

750ml bottle, finished with an artificial cork and cage. Apparently this is from 2007, I didn’t quite realize it was that old. Aroma is sweet, malty, very lightly funky and farmy with notes of leather, cheese, wood, caramel, doughy bread, dried flowers and faint must. Cloudy rusty amber-brown color with a rocky head that subsides to an uneven pattern. Flavor profile is a good blend of caramel, toffeeish malt sweetness, light, residual hop bitterness, a bit of a drying bite from the Brett addition and doughy, fruity notes from the other Belgian yeasts used here. Alcohol shows itself only very late into the finish, with a brief peppery tinge and some faint warmth. Smooth and very gently acidic palate with a low degree of effervescence and a full body. Interesting stuff. If this had been dated, though, I probably would have had it a year or two ago and would have enjoyed it a bit more.

750ml bottle to tulip. Pour is a hazy golden orange with a soapy white head. Aroma is is musty citrus yeast and malt along with some earthy tones that I can not describe. Taste is crisp lemon citrus and malty notes. Palate is very fizzy carbonation and dry.

10/9/10. Thanks, Coleman! 750mL bottle. Light lemon peel and oranges aroma with Belgian yeast very present. Sweet citrusy flavor as well with a lingering funky yeast presence.
