Bottle at the Shenandoah Beer Throwdown. Copper colored, clear, medium white head. Aroma is caramel, citrus. Flavor is hoppy, citrus, grapefruit, and dry finish. Smooth hoppy, and some yeast in the flavor. Very good.

Pours a ruby color with a rocky white head, slightly hazy, excellent lacing... Aroma is a touch bretty, with sweet caramel malts in the background... Touch sweet with bretty notes above dark fruity notes... dry finish, medium bodied... Not as bretty, tart, funky as i expected, but quite good...
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 thebaldwizard (1203) - Ohio, USA - NOV 2, 2007
Bottle shared by puddintane. Yellow body with a small head. The aroma is very yeasty with some must and a hint of grassy herbs. The taste is complex, with all of the elements of the aroma, plus more of the herbal component coming on strong. Nicely done, but not my cup of tea...
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 rubbishystuff (1202) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 6, 2010
I can’t remember where I had this but it was pretty good. Rather tart with stand out fruit and hop flavors. Serving: Tap
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 joshwilfong (1200) - Cleveland, Ohio, USA - FEB 18, 2009
light golden with large white head. moderate-high carbonation. mild hop nose. malt to bitterness ratio rests slightly on the hop side with a flavor of yeasty esters followed by some hop flavor that is somewhat of resin. some alcoholic warmth adds some depth. very very nice, great belgian influenced by west coast style
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 csbosox (1188) - Prairie Village, Kansas, USA - MAY 30, 2008
UPDATED: SEP 9, 2008 Big thanks to Tim for this one. Aroma is citrus, honey, candi sugar, pine, and light fruits. Light malt profile, well attenuated, lots of nice hops flavor. Tommy likey.
Additional notes I bought a couple of bottles of this. The one I am drinking currently fits the above description pretty well. There is maybe a touch of earthiness from the brett, but not much more than that. I don’t get the "decidely American Hopping additions" either, though the hops flavor and bitterness are just fine. I’ll age the other botlte a while, but even if no more brett character is evident, this is still a pretty nice beer. Score stays the same.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 kkearn (1162) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 11, 2007
Bottle. Sampled at Stephen Beaumont Class at Tria Fermentation School, 8/10/07. Poured orange-amber with a moderate sized off-white head. Big funky, musty, earthy nose, with strong floral hops. Sweet, honeyish flavor up front, gives way to tartness and earthiness, then finishes with crisp hop bitterness. Light carbonation; really smooth mouthfeel. This is a really nice beer; I’d love to be able to sample it again.
4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 desurfer (1154) - Annapolis, Maryland, USA - APR 23, 2008
Pours a mostly clear orange with a moderately bubbly head. Aroma is grassy and herbal. Flavor is tart and hoppy, with bubblegum, coriander and some estery character. Some brett in there as well. Alcohol is hardly noticeable. It’s a very enjoyable beer, with the flavors melding nicely into what I would consider a classic Belgian ale. Wonderful!
