Big nose that presented alot of hops at first, resinous as the bottle said, and very floral. A bretty side to became apparent later. Huge resiny hop flavors, malts give it full body, esp for a belgian ale. Finish is very bitter. Brett flavors take awhile to become known. I had this with Thanksgiving dinner and it was a really great partner.

750 ml bottle: Poured into my Allagash flute: This one pours a very dark golden color, with an orange hue. There was a bit of an off-white head o nit, but it didn’t linger long, and left a minimal amount of lacing. The first this that hits the nose is some spiciness: I get a whiff of cinnamon. There is also some breadiness and yeastiness, as well as some citrus and apple in there. An interesting flavor profile. It has some up-front bitterness. Spicy with citrus notes. Medium bodied, but lacks the normal Belgian sweetness. Very interesting and very good!
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 jbrus (4989) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - MAR 29, 2009
Bottle@Home. Brett aroma, leather and barnyard. Yellow colour, off-white head, good lace. Sweet, leather, spiced, hint of caramel. Unusual combination of starting sweetness and finishing leather.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 bhensonb (7131) - Woodland, California, USA - OCT 3, 2007
750 ml. bottle. Aroma of spice and yeast with floral/fruity hop. Hazy ripe apricot color with a decent white head. Medium bodied with moderate, almost creamy, carbonation. The flavor is lighter stone fruits, like peach and apricot, with tingly spice. Seems a bit funky like something from Russian River. It’s lightly sweet, but the finish turns dryish with a earthy, tart finish. The mouth tingles in a way. Could be a bit woody. Very different; very, very good.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 ruggedman (643) - Portland, Maine, USA - MAY 5, 2009
750ml bottle from RSVP.
Pours a golden cloudy color with a thin white head. Aroma of hops, dirt, and funk. Flavor is sweet malt at first, with a nice funky tang. Finish is bitter and dry with hints of citrus. Mouthfeel is super smooth and slightly acidic. It’s a funky beer with a lot of hops, what’s not to love!
4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 jefcon (1104) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - JUN 21, 2008
Glowing orange with a sticky, thick head that contributes a great amount of lacing to the glass. Aromas of bread and strong lemon, rhubarb, and musky hops. Smooth and light, with a slick finish of french bread crust and plum preserves. Grassy hop, sour fruit, then a great punch of alcohol and raw hop/yeast/malt. Far from being unbalanced, this beer just has phases, and develops on the palate. Interesting and delicious stuff.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Cornfield (5239) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - JAN 27, 2008
This pours a slightly hazed yellowish amber body with a fluffy off-white head. The aroma has tart tangerine, sweet pale malt, honey, meadow flowers, apricots, and herbs. The flavor adds a refreshing acidic quality along with some zest, peppers, soft fruits, an herbal/floral bitterness, and a touch of the funk. Very nice and no doubt this would age quite well.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Goldorak (439) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 3, 2009
Murky, copper orange brew with a thin ring of pearly white lace.
Farmhouse twang is evident, but isn’t overly powerful. There’s also an interesting mix of bready yeast and that "corked" aroma for lack of a better term. The aroma is probably what I liked best about this Beer.
Decent carbonation, it starts with a bit of bicuity malt flavor and and finishes dry and somewhat acidic, making quite refreshing. There was just a tiny bit of booze that creeps up in the aftertaste, not a bad thing mind you.
I’m not the biggest fan of DeProef Beers, but this one was quite good.
