great! picked up at the Carlsbad PP shop: i initially gathered an aroma of spice (reminiscent of pumpkin), citrus (lemon--acidic quality), wheat, and almonds; the body is hazy, orange-straw, orange highlight, with a soapy white head that leaves little lace; the flavor hides the alcohol well, and has a more floral, less spicy quality than what the aroma initially provided; smooth and creamy; highly enjoyable though not what i expected for a "Belgian Strong Ale" because this *seemed* lighter, and *seemed* more appropriate for, well, but anyway... it’s great and more SoCal brewers need to collaborate with Europe.

750ml bottle. Pours a hazy murky golden orange with a huge frothy white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is subdued, but nice - yeast, sugary malts, some fruits and some hops.

The flavor is sweet malts and fruits with a crisp hop finish with a good amount of bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, a pretty different but nice Belgian. It’s a little too sweet for me.

Thanks to notalush for sharing this one. Pale golden cloudy orange beer. Spicy and fruity aroma, orange peel, apricots and a soft earthy/spicy yeastiness. Rich fruitiness, light leathery beginnings of funkiness, but it’s not there yet. Herbal spiciness with loads of apricot and peaches. Softly hoppy finish. Nice beer.

Pours out a orange/dark gold color with a small to moderate lacing white head. Aroma is of some fruit, hops, and slight brett. Taste is complex, banana, citrus hops and some yeast going on in there too, I got the brett a lot more on the aroma than the actual taste, none the less this was enjoyable.

bottle.yellow orange body a scummy white head.tangerine banana nosewith a bit of musky bretty scent of rubber. spiced lemon flavor at first. sweet and the slides to a dry finish. chalkyin a good way. a fair bit of grapefruit happening here. some caramel vanilla notes are nice under this. the first bretted up beer i’ve enjoyed in a while, there will be more, the first rating in my kick ass new notebook, and there will be more. now back to "mr. show" 4 7 7 5 15

Luminescent earthy orange color with haze and thick tan head that lasts. Earthy, grassy aromas with a fruity background adding depth and complexity. Citrusy funk is mellow and integrated well. Orange pith, some tea leaves and pastry dough. Strong effervescence. Mouthfeel is fun and lively with playful prickles. Mellow, earthy, balanced, integrated flavors. A melting pot of herbs, minerals, flowers, fruit, and funk. Spiciness as in basil, arugula. Citrus zest. Some tannin-like astringency. Citrus juice splash finishes off the flavors with off-dry delightfulness. Solid, well-made brew.

Sample courtesy of superdave70 at hellbilly*s holiday tasting. Pours a hazy amber with a fluffy white head. Nose is yeasty, funky and fruity. Taste is funk, sweet malt, fruits and some floral hops. Medium dry mouth feel. Nice beer. Thanks Dave!
