Pours a mostly clear orange with a moderately bubbly head. Aroma is grassy and herbal. Flavor is tart and hoppy, with bubblegum, coriander and some estery character. Some brett in there as well. Alcohol is hardly noticeable. It’s a very enjoyable beer, with the flavors melding nicely into what I would consider a classic Belgian ale. Wonderful!

Jul 22, 2008 750 mL c&c bottle from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville. Hazy orange pour with an excellent head. Big retention and nice lacing. Very yeasty and fruity aroma with notes of citrus, apple, pear and mild funk. A much mellower taste than expected. Earthy caramel tones with an cherry/citrus fruitiness. The brett is barely noticeable in this young bottle. A very nicely balanced and pleasant brew.

Aroma is yeasty/orange, maybe some honey & herbs and spices.
Taste is lightly bitter, malt / sugary, some fruits (orange) and spices (coriander).

Jul 20, 2008 Bottles from Sparky27 and Miketd - thanks! This one is my only bottle of batch 2 (the others are B!) and I wanted to see how I liked the fresh hop taste (as opposed to the brett later on). This one has a golden color with a big bubbly head. Aroma has some light citrus, yeast, and acidity. Flavor is somewhat hop dominant - a bit of Duvel mixed with a fresh IPA. Amarillo shines though here with some assorted floral hops, light brett, and a bit of tripel-ish sugar. I really liked it, but I have a feeling that if the brett kicks in this will be one outstanding beer.

Jul 19, 2008 Pours a clear gold-orange color with ample chunky white head that blossoms up and clings to the side of the glass. The aroma reminds me of a well-hopped Saison with some floral peaking through the mysterious spices. Some hints of dried apricot and citrus come through as well. The flavor is a funky concoction of blunt hops, pepper, citrus fruits, and other spices. To control all of this, the beer is fairly well malted. The beer dances in the mouth due to the high carbonation. Very interesting.
