An Edwardia Brown Ale.
Throwing a big 6.8% punch of brooding, smoky, oaken flavours - this is not a beer for the faint of heart
This beer has been brewed in an initial limited edition run of just 1,000 bottles by the Signature Brew team, under the guidance of Head Brewer Tom Bott, with Ed on hand to lend his assistance, drinking wisdom and finely-honed palette. Ed Harcourtís critically-celebrated songwriting demanded that we made a beer that doesnít quickly disappear from the tongue. Four malts are used to give the intensive backbone, letting the transatlantic hops glide over the top adding high notes and finish.

Mold chocolatey and caramel aroma. Standard for this time of year really. Fruity tasting and quite syrupy. Not bad. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cask at the Signature Tap Takeover at the Red Squirrel Chesham Brewery Shop on 7 March 2014. Poured a very dark brown, with a ruby hue and a dense, beige head. Aroma of dark malt, prunes and grain. Spicy flavours, with some molasses and dried fruit. Finish was grass, toasted malt and liquorice.

330ml bottle. Clear, chestnut brown colour with average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, off-white to beige head. Intense nuttily malty aroma, sweetish, hints of nougat, a touch of roast. Taste is dry malty, nuttily, minimally roasty, subtle sweetness, dry hints of nut parings, well matching hoppy overtones with minimally herbal and grassy touch. Really nice.

Deep mahogany with a white with a beautiful lacy lasting head. Nice smell of hops, with deep malt and nice caramel. Some vanilla in the back. Nice rounded full mouthfeel. Tastes of sweet toffee at first and finishes with a slight roast bitter dry finish. There is a bit of astringent club soda in the aftertaste.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin off white head. The aroma is big nut woody malt. The flavour is medium bitter with a smooth earthy malt hop bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation. Really liked this one from the aroma through to the finish.

Clear deep red - amber beer with a tidy pale cream coloured head. Smooth palate with light fine carbonation. Smooth creamy malt, semi dry. Very light touches of roast, coffee and smoke. Light smooth finish. Okay but wants something else.

Bottle from íJacksí, Goring-on-Thames, Oxon, consumed at Easthope campsite nr Much Wenlock, Shropshire, Thursday 22 August 2013 Pours dark brown, absolutely oodles of coffee, really big coffee. Tangy, fruity, roasty and a little bitter, good beer, really good, some good quality cocoa in there as well for good measure. I have passed over this beer so many times when visiting Jacks, perhaps put off a little by the musical tie-ins, but not any more this is a very good beer. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8
