(Bottle) pours dark brown to black with light brown head. The aroma is sweet and roasted with some underlying resiny hops and alcohol. Lots of brown sugar. Undertones of Ginger/spices, asphalt, dried fruits, fruity bitter cocoa, salt liquorice, sweet black currant, grainy dark bread and figs. I like the nose and I am not a bif fan of high alcohol beers. The flavour is near heavily sweet, medium bitter, light salty and tiny acidic. Tones of brown sugar, mild spices, fruity dark chocolate, dark fruits, numbing alcohol and fainted hops. The mouthfeel is clean, bit round, light sticky and light carbonated. Sweet and bitter chocolate roast on the finish. Medium bodied.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Neeskens (327) - SWEDEN - DEC 9, 2010
Sample@SBWF’10. Pours almost black with a light brown head. Looks quite heavy and thick. The aroma is massive with a lot of raisins and coffee together with the sweet roasted malts. The alcohol is there but not as much as expected. Very rich mouth is very malty and a bit too sweet, also tonnes of dried fruit and some chocolate. The alcohol is hidden nicely. A nice beer that is very powerful, but perhaps it’s to straight forward and lack some complexity to really give you value in line with its high price.
