Dark. Low head. Sweet fragrance with a fruity nose and som sour undertones. Not so smoky, but rather fresh in its flavor, like pears, chocolate, soffee and hops of course. the bitterness is far from overwhleming, but balanced in a innovative way with fruit and alcohol.

rarbring (650) - Linköping, SWEDEN - DEC 20, 2012
Aroma: The smell is typical for heavy roasted malt, burnt bread, coffee, some anise and dried fruit.
Appearance: The beer is black. A cream colored foamy head, no lacing.
Taste: Initially sweet, raisins and dried dates, sour apples, some sherry, dark chocolate, nuts and cherry seeds.
Palate: Medium low carbonation, soft with small bubbles.
Overall: Really god, and really much beer for the relatively low ABV.
Note: bottle Reviewed 2010-10-14.

Brix (633) - DENMARK - JAN 2, 2011
Tasted 2010-12-29. Pours clear, red/brown with big, grey/beige head. Aroma is smokey with cocoa and ever so slight metallic. Taste is very smokey. The smoke dominates a bit too much of the flavour, but it doesn’t ruin the beer. Overall its a bit weak and watery.

tfredvik (627) - Oslo, NORWAY - OCT 12, 2012
Close to black body with a faint reddish glow when held upon a bright light. A huge, creamy, light-brown head forms very easily, so it takes quite some time to pour the glass. The head is long-lived and laces the glass well. Quite strong and very malty aroma, with heavily roasted notes, coffee and dark caramel. Also some light hoppy notes, traces of dark fruits and a whiff of tobacco. Light to moderate sweet taste, the same goes for the bitterness. Rather strong roasted to burnt aroma, coffee, caramel and a bit too much dry ashy yeast. Faint smoke and tobacco, even fainter dark fruits. Quite light body, too lively carbonation, and all the yeast gives both a dry texture and a light metallic feel. Still a very nice beer.

Pitch black at a first look but turns ruby red against a strong light source. Created a hugh tanned head that diminished to, well, nothing. Soy sauce, bitter chocolate, coffee, smoke, tar and liquorice. Dry taste with a burned bitterness. The body is a bit light and I would want a bigger body to carry all those dark flavors.

MikeKeller (560) - Kemi Rock City, FINLAND - SEP 23, 2009
Bottle from Systembolaget. This beer is as black as an october night. Only some reddish can be seen when looking against the light. Quickly dissappearing quite tall beautiful beige head. Aroma and flavor has roasted malts, coffee and some hops. Some fruits and rubber can be also tasted. Leaves an aftertaste kind of like you’ve smoked a sigarrette. Medium body, quite enjoyable.

Mycket karaktär, en närmast vildvuxen smak med en hel flora av nyanser att utforska. En klar överraskning som bjuder på en helhetsupplevelse.

Bottle, thanks to Fredrik. Pours a black colour with a nice beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and dark chocolate. Flavour is nicely malty and roasted with coffee, chocolate, and liquorice. Medium bitterness. Body is medium, and the texture is slightly oily. Quite dry. Very balanced and nice.

Dark brown red, close to black with a small beige head. Aroma is sweet roasted malts, coffe’ish, light and bright. Flavour is the same but more watery with a thin roasted finish and notes of caramell. Mouthfeel is medium with a pleasant amount of carbonation.
