Hazy dark amber colour with a tight off-white head. Aroma is weak hops and sweet fruity malt. Flavour is fruity and sweet with a huge malt profile and a weak hop profile. Very non-american with very non-fruity hops. Ends on a bitter note with some malt sweetness lingering. Simple, straight forward and a nice try but..It doesnt quite work. Drinkable anyway, a decent strong ale.

UPDATED: JUL 1, 2009 Draught at Bishops Arms, V. Hamngatan, Göteborg. Dark amber colour with thick, creamy head that lasts very long. Big, wide curtains are left inside the glass long after. There is sometimes a misconception about the colour amber, so go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amber for info. A malt sweetness is noticed vaguely in the aroma, but what is most predominant in the smell is canned pineapple or apricot. Tropical fruit it is nevertheless. Good start! The mouthfeel is huge, and that of a good Barley Wine, with almost jelly-ish characteristics,, with a flavour from huge additions of hops, where the bitterness just grows, becomes salty, and comes in waves, even long after swallowing. The finishing bitterness is huge, almost bizzare, in the way it just grows on you. On a personal level, that’s not a problem. Attenuation seems to be pretty low. There is band aid or phenols in the taste. This is not the West Coast 2IPA, due to the high levels of residual sugars and the salty hops . Tropical fruits feature also had to step back due to either the amount of bitterning hops or just plainly hops with a different feature. For a more balanced brew, aim for a better attenuation, by for instance adding table sugar in the kettle. Props to Mattias at Sigtuna though for brewing an 2IPA in Sweden!

On June 21, 2009
Slight hazy copper color, creamy off-white head. Pineapple, fruity, creamy, hoppy scent. Sweet, hoppy, huge bitter taste. Citrusy. Medium to smooth mouthfeel, huge bitterness. I liked it at first, but it’s quite out of balance, also way too bitter. Works well as a small glass, but not more at the same time. The high rating is for the first impressions, would go down if I were to rate it along the way I was drinking the glass to finish it.

Draught@Eskilstuna beerfestival. Appearance: Hazy brownish color with big, white, head. Aroma: Fruit, Pepper, Caramel, Alcohol, Grass. Flavor: Citric notes, Pepper, Alcohol, Caramel, Dried fruit. Palate: Very aggressive bitterness with a strong presence of alcohol. This is just bitter with no balance to it at all. It could have used some more malt and a bit more fruity hops to make it a plesant experience.

Draft, Sigtuna Brygghus - Hazy amber colored beer with a small white head. Aroma is sweet malty with hints of caramel, ripe fruits and litchi. Flavor is very sweet with strong notes of caramel, litchi, floral hops and alcohol. Full-bodied and dry. Not overly bitter for being an DIPA
