Bottle via trade with Konfistik. Pours clear golden with a small bubbly off white head. Hoppy nose and flavor. Citrus and grass with a touch of metal and bread beneath. Ends dry and hoppy. Medium bodied.

Rating from Lkpg Beer Expo. Unfiltered from a keg that was filled the day before tasting it. Light amber color. Very fruity, very fresh and with loads of "green hoppiness". A slight grapefruit flavour goes into the mix as well. Not too bitter and very drinkable. Indeed a great summer IPA. The bottled version doesn’t fully have the same hoppiness as this had but that is still a good beer.

Koyo (251) - SWEDEN - JUN 17, 2011
Bottle from Systembolaget. Aroma has some sweet caramel and a lot of citrus. Pours a nice golden, clear, with a high white foam. Taste is quite bitter on the onset and all the way through, a crisp bitter finish. Mouthfeel is a bit thin but overall this is a very nice beer, very drinkable.

500ml bottle. Pours a lustruous medium amber, faintly clouydy, with a thin white head. The aromas are quite hoppy, although somewhat subdued for an IPA. Alongside the hops, lots of malt, ripe fruits, caramel, a touch of diacetyl, which is not really welcome in the style, as well as some yeast. There is also a particularly earthy element, which reminds me of carrots or turnips. Almost completely dry, medium bodied, rather high bitterness, quite low on the CO2. Tastewise, it seems that the malt character takes over the hops. Hops are there, for sure, but I want them smacked in the face when it says IPA on the label. Also some caramel, again the diacetyl, peaches, apricots, and the earthiness. Conclusively, this is quite drinkable, no doubt. The diacetyl, however, along with the earthy notes, which I am sure derives from the hops, but are nevertheless unpleasant to me, put this beer off style for me, hence the low points. (2011-06-15)

Bottled. Coppery amber colour with mediumsized beige foamy head. Aroma is very grassy and mildly catpissy hops. Flavour is fruity, grassy, sweet malty and a bit nectary as well. Yet the grassbomb in it makes it quite harsh.

UPDATED: APR 29, 2012 2011bottle: Amber with a pretty large off-white head. Aroma: berries, citrus, fruit, some nuts. Taste: grapefruit, citrus, caramel, berries, some resin, quite a high bitterness with a long, dry finish. Medium-bodied, smooth, with medium carbonation. 7/4/7/4/15=3.7
2012 bottle. Aroma: tropical fruits, toast, citrus, floral. Taste: red berries, resin, pine, citrus, caramel, floral, some salt. The finish is dry, resinous and quite bitter. I would say it differs from last year, but will get the same rating.
Sigtuna Easter IPA, 2012 bottle. Not the same recipe as East Coast IPA, so maybe shouldn’t be aliased here. Aroma: red berries, toast, grape. Taste: strawberries, citrus, pine, resin, semi-sweet caramel, medium-bitter, light dry finish. Compared to the East Coast 2012, this feels lighter, has a lower bitterness, lighter finish, less tropical fruits, and to me isn’t as good. 7/4/7/4/13=3.5

Bottle: Clear red/coppery colour, with a nice creamy head. Aroma is dominated of citrus, flowers, sweet maltynes and a dry citric ending. Flavor had a smouth creamy mouth feeling of citrus, flowers, maltynes. Medium body and a short to medium fruity/flowery fininsh. Well done

Aroma: sweet malt base and it is surprisingly so, jam, marmalade, honey, can’t detect much hops at all! Some earthy one’s in the background maybe. Appearance: Hazy dark amber colour, small beige head. Flavour: Hops are there, big malt base and it is almost sweetish. harsh metallic notes to the bitterness. This feels unfinished to me. Mouthfeel: average. Total: Sigtuna is still one of the more uneven swedish microbreweries in my book..

Pours deep copper amber with a huge light tanned head leaving nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is sweet, malty, citric hoppy, caramel, hay and bread. Sweet citric medium mouthfeel. Flavor is very good; citric, acidy, a bit pungeant, sweet, bitter and caramel. Acidy fruity palate. Finishes longlilived bitter tart and fruity.
