(Bottle). Big aroma of malt in both smell and taste. The taste is soft and slightly sweet with delicate hints of smoke, raisins and warming alcohol. A nice and tasty beer!

Pours a deep mahogany brown with barely any head. Aroma of malt, nuts, butterscotch with hints of smoke and soy. Taste is very boozy with a distinct sweetness and just a hint of bitterness early on. Finish is port like and boozy. Somewhat light body for the ABV with low carbonation.

2012-11-16. Very dark body with a small tan head. 3+ Healthy amount of smokey character, lightly peaty? 6+ Flavour is similar, sweet malty core, smokey peaty overtones. 6+ Smooth medium bodied palate, very lightly carbonated. 3+ Solid take on the style but more smokey than I would like.

Okej men liten besvikelse.

Dark brown color, almost black; it has a very low carbonation, and therefore the head is small, creamy, of which only a few bubbles persist. The aroma is mild but interesting, with a balanced blend of caramel, treacle, malt, roasted malt, a hint of firewood and dark chocolate.
It’s full bodied, and round, thanks to the low carbonation too; it’s defined by the brewer as "Scottish Barley Wine", but it’s not as sweet and rich as a Barley Wine; it has a quite good flavor of dark caramel with light smoke; the bitterness is relatively low, and the final rather short.
Good, but it lacks of depth, that could acquire with just a bit more of bitterness or malt.
