3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at Nya Tröls, Malmö
Dark amber color, mahogany; small head with big bubbles, like a cask ale. The mild spicy aroma (cinnamon?) reminds me a chicken curry, this is not positive; light roasted nuts too. Good body strength, some residual sweetness; caramel flavor and some chocolate; there is again a light cinnamon presence, and very light coffee. It’s surely good compared to the anonymus Julöl that appear in Sweden this time of the year, but not special.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottled. 2008, 9,8 %. old rating.
Dark ruby red-brown colour. Shitloads of choriander, loads of orange along with a lot of almond paste in aroma. Flavourwise there is a huge almond paste profile with orange and choriander. The beer is sweet and everything just gets too much. Imperial of everything here. I’d think the brewer was drunk and wanted to make an Imperial Wit or something. Big big big beer. Too big!

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottled (BB 06/2007)
Hazy dark amber color, small off-white head. Strong aroma of ... glue. It’s kind of fruity and sweet but it really smells like glue. Quite full-bodied. Sticky, grassy sweet fruity flavor. Dried prunes, apricot, banana and mango. Crisp carbonation. Not really pleasant and not easy to drink, aftertaste is better, nice fruity flavor. Sigtuna’s beers are always on or off.
