djoeye (2070) - Tromsø, NORWAY - NOV 25, 2014
Black brown body, light brown small and diminishing head, lacingless. Aroma; roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee, cocoa, dusty brown hops, paint(?). Taste; roasted black malts, winey stuff, dark fermented fruits, hops, and goes to finish with dark fruits, cocoa, dark chocolate. Feels as a well bodied, but a bit slippery porter. Overall; when all dishes are eaten, and the Xmas chocolate and fruits are on the table, this is a suitable pal for the occasion. [33cl brown embossed bottle, abv8%, BB16-09-2016, B@Systembolaget Storheden Luleå]

Inky black, mocha foam (thinnish). Aroma is lots of chocolate, toast, leather. Taste pulls out the same plus a lot of fruits - blackberries and the like. Sweet, bitter in balance. Lots going on, lots of evolution throughout the sip. Good.

New 2014 bottle from Systembolaget. The packaging says chocolate and coffee, but all I get is caramel malt and toasted bread. Pours a headless black. Disappointing.

Linnet (1194) - Karlstad, SWEDEN - NOV 23, 2014
Coffee, chocolate, licorice, ash, transluscent black colour, small, beige head, medium bite, salty, mid-sweet, full of character and well rounded, fullbodied, soft carbonation, warming finish. Solid.

Kolsvart vätska med liten brun krona. Fyllig doft med inslag av rostade nötter, kaffe och choklad. Smaken är syrlig med mycket kaffekaraktär och nyanser av plommon. Mycket god.

Bottle to pint glass Blackberry, coffee, chocolate, and toasted malt. Black with a 2 cm creamy dark tan head that reduces quickly to a thin mottled head. Taste is toasted malt, bread, dark chocolate, coffee, and a little caramel and a hint of sourness.

Very dark but clear pour. Almost no head. Rich and smokey caramels. Very nice and easy to drink. Not at all boozy. Dig this

(Bottle) Black colour with lasting, rocky, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, dried fruit (figs, raisins), liquorice, black rye bread and hints of orange peel. Malty, roasted taste with notes of black coffee, dark chocolate, cacao, liquorice, black rye bread, dark fruit, some vanilla sweetness, hits of burnt sugar and a generous coffee bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Not quite as powerful as the stronger 2011 version, but a bit more balanced, actually in excellent balance. Lovely beer.

2014-09-30. Black body, nice brown head fades. 3+ Lightly fruity alcoholic dark malt, moderate roast malt. 7++ Flavour is similar, rich sweet dark malt character, fruity lightly tangy accents, notes of dusty cocoa. Light alcohol throughout is delicate considering how strong it is, moderately warming in the throat. Smooth medium to full bodied has light carbonation. Pretty nice. Bottle cellared close to a year, BB 2014-12-17, from the LCBO, Toronto
