Bottle @ Systembolaget. 2012 vintage. Cellared properly in rotbox conditions for about 1.2 years, Pours black with a big nice-looking blackish beige head that slowly dissipates while leaving some thick lacing on the glass. smell is malty with heavily roasted malts, salty liquorice candy, burnt wood, caramel, burnt cookies, pine needles, grapefruit rinds, dark roast coffee, resin and hay. Taste is tiny sweet, bitter, malty and earthy with roasted malts, burnt caramel, charred wood, dried pine needles, salty liquorice candy, alcohol, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, lemon zest, hay, resin, moist soil and toffee. Mouthfeel is soft, velvety, tiny roasted astringent, tiny boozy and near full bodied. Finish is bitter and malty with roasted malts, burnt caramel salty liquorice candy, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, burnt cookies, resinous wood, soil and dried pine needles. Quite tasty...

pours very dark brown with a small light beige head, some retention and lacing. chocolate, booze, raisins, treacle and some milky notes - moderate to low sweetness, licorice, spices, burnt caramel and cereals, also some fresh dark red fruitiness, some pine, slightly earthy, hint of ashes and soy sauce. moderate to low carbonation, light to medium body - oily, grassy-spicy-piney-bitter coffee finish. balanced and tasty. pleasant surprise - very nice!

Bottle from czar, thanks! Pours a really dark brown with a small beige head that receeds into a small ring that leaves good lacing. Aroma is nice and full of roast, chocolate and coffee, giving good moka impressions. Taste is sweet and roasty, giving some clean burnt grain flavors and absolutely no ash or green peppers. Body is quite full, mouthfeel really creamy. Well crafted and really nice!

33cl bottle from the LCBO. Dark mahogany with a nice beige head. Some smoke, nuttiness, coffee grinds, roasted malts, bit of vanilla, overall seems a bit artificial yet still tasty. Moderate carbonation, mild body, somewhat sweet, decent but wouldn’t go out of my way for it.

Bottle (330 ml). From quicklearner, thanks! Dark brown with a medium beige head and some lacing. Aroma is of cocoa, vanilla, caramel, roasted malt, sweetness notes, light alcohol and fruity notes. Taste is slightly to moderately sweet with vanilla, chocolate, caramel, roasted malt and light fruits. Light warming finish. Herbal finish. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Silky mouthfeel. Good strong Porter. Nice balance. Enjoyable.

330 mL bottle. Looks like a stout or porter. Not much head, though. Kinda fruity in the nose, and not much roast. I don’t think I’d guess from the aroma that this is a porter. Fruity (berries) flavour as well, with the porter flavours underneath. Creamy body. Odd, but not bad.
