Bäst före datum 091001 - så flaskan antagligen från -08. Mörk, nästan svart med inte så kraftigt ljusbrunt skum. Har tyckt att färsk MNM varit alldelles för spretig mad alla kryddorna. Denna lagrade har en mycket bättre harmoni och en torr sammetslen munkänsla. Alla vassa kanter har slipats ner utan att göra ölen på något sätt mesig.

Pours dark dark brown with low thick head. Aromas of christmas spices and hints of orange. Taste is A LOT of spices which takes up too much of the mouth. Palate ok not more.

Mörk med lågt skum som snart helt är borta. Lite kolsyra och mycket doft av kryddor. Vad jag skulle kalla en kryddad engelsk porter. Som sådan ganska stilenlig med lätt mörk kropp, syrlig, söt och som sagt kryddad. Det här med muskot är svårt. Det blir lätt för mycket och då smakar allt muskot. Minns Ridgeways Pickled Santa som ett mindre lyckat exempel i samma stil. Det här är åt det hållet. Visst känner man lite kryddnejlika också men de andra smakerna är så finstämda att de hamnar i skymundan. Sen är ju frågan vad som passar till eftersom det är ett öl som tar mycket plats. Stark ost eller ett gott vörtbröd tycker jag funkar bra.

A very nice spicy, fruity and berry fragrance. It contains scents of for example, clove, yeast, melon, orange and red berries. The taste is fruity and spicy, but unfortunately rather thin and without much richness (something I think is fairly typical for the beers from the Sigtuna Brewery). The taste is definitely not living up to the fabulous fragrance, which is really boring. But despite the slightly watery flavor, it is a good beer!

Bottle, and first from Swedish Mohawk Brewing Company that I haven’t had the chance to taste before now. Deep, near-black brown body with a medium light beige head. Nose is licorice, leather and fruity hints of spices and black berries. A bit too mild, but otherwise nice. Taste is spicy malty tones, licorice and herbal hints. Subtle notes of Xmas-y spices, well blended. A full and nice beer that definitely could fare well as a Christmas beer and a pleasant first encounter with Mohawk.

Bottle. Pours a dark amber color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty malty caramel spicy aroma. Fruity malty spicy caramel flavor. Has a fruity malty spicy caramel finish.

Bottle. Almost black with a red tinge, small light brown head that settles quickly. Aroma: Christmas, orange with cloves, lots of spices, but some are hard to place. Taste: Christmas spices, chocolate, glögg, cinnamon, roasted, dried fruits, sweet. Medium-bodied, smooth. Very spicy and Christmasy beer, but this particular blend of spices dosn’t work fully for me.
