COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Plenty of hops, not that molars shakes loose. Pretty much sweetness and dried fruits including raisins. Miracle Man got busted!

Bottle from Systembolaget. Pours black with a big tan head. Aroma like a hoppy IS. Taste of rosted malt, dark chcolate, oranges and some red currant.

(Bottle) Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and floral and fruity hops. The taste is roasted, vaguely burnt malt, chocolate and fruity hops. Both the aroma and flavor is well-balanced but not quite as powerful as in other Black IPA’s. But the beer is very good and actually one of the best beers I tasted from Sigtuna Brygghus.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Almost black with a large tan head. Aroma and taste of rosted malt, ash, licorice and some coffee. Also some light notes of "milk". Not much hops in this one. It reminded a lot of a porter, Black IPA? No, no!

Bottle 33cl. A black colour with a medium high light brown head. An aroma of reasted malt, coffee, chocolate, licorice, pineapple, grapefruit and orange peel. The taste is medium sweet and light bitter. A medium to full body, oily texture, soft carbonation and a medium long roasted malt duration. A fresh and well-balanced black IPA.

En svart öl med ett ljusbrunt skum. Doftar kaffe och choklad från den rostade malten och citrus och tallbarr från humle. Samma går igen i smaken, en torr, trevlig munkänsla.

UPDATED: SEP 10, 2012 Sample at a tasting. It poured a very dark brown liquid with a brown head. Fresh hoppy smell with lots of tropical fruits. Similar taste but it’s paired up with a roasted bitterness and some dark malts. Nice BIPA. Edit: Tried this again (batch 381) and it lacked hop aroma quite allot. Lowered the score a bit to something inbetween the first and the second tasting.

Really good black IPA. Smells good. Good taste and long finish. Really pleased with this. Fairly dry in taste unfortunately.

Aroma: Dark fruits, red berries, coffee and dark chocolate. Some roasted grains and smoke.
Appearance: A dark dark brown brew, a tan high head with good lacing
Taste: Black rye bread, bramble marmalade, dried figs, coffee and soy sauce.
Palate: Low carbonation, sticky, big body and a coarse dry finish.
Overall: A very dark and rather harsh brew, not for the faint hearted.
Note: Bottle. Reviewed 2012-09-07.
