COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

33 cl bottle from Systembolaget. BB 2013-04-30, sampled on October 4, 2012.
Very dark brown color, medium sized, dense, lasting light brown head. Hoppy, herbal, citrus, roasted, chocolate scent. Hoppy, bitter, a little bit sweet, not much balanced taste. Medium to smooth mouthfeel, though I feel it lacks some co2. Roasted and bitter aftertaste. High bitterness. Almost have a chili sensation to it too, right at the end of my throat when I swallow it.

330 ml bottle. 381. BB ??/05/2013. (Systembolaget) Östersund, Sweden.
Black colour with some red hue and hu-u-u-uge foamy tan head. Aroma is fantastic. Dark malt, mildly roasted, strong liquorice, bitterish hops and a tad chocolate in aroma. Enchanting aroma. Flavour is strong and delicious. There’s roasted malt, mild coffee roastiness, ash, grassy and piney hops, liquorice, bitterness and mild alcohol warmth. Excellent brew.

larsga (6120) - Oslo, NORWAY - OCT 4, 2012
Medium brown head. Opaque black body goes deep dark red at edges. Dense fruity alcoholic roasty aroma with earthy chocolatey notes. Impressive harmony. Dry-sweet roasty earthy fruity taste with perfumy red berry chocolate notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, smooth mouthfeel. Dryish earthy gooseberry aftertaste with roasty chocolatey dusty fruity notes. Lovely. Amazingly harmonic and seductively smooth. A great beer. (0.33l bottle, Systembolaget, Nordstan, Göteborg.)

(Bottle) Black colour with huge, lasting, pale brown head. Malty, roasted, hoppy nose with notes of coffee, liquorice, dried fruit, soy sauce, black rye bread and citric hops. Malty, roasted, hoppy taste with dark chocolate, liquorice, cocoa, soy sauce, black rye bread, citrus peel and a generous citric bitterness. Quite powerful and very tasty black IPA. Very nice.

lusikka (5948) - Tampere, FINLAND - OCT 27, 2012
330 ml bottle.
Pours a pitch black colour with a creamy beige head. Aroma of rich roasted malts, English toffee and some herbal notes. Flavour of roasted malts, grassy hops with some floral notes, raisins, salty licorice, dark chocolate and some bready notes. Medium bodied, oily mouthfeel and a roasty, quite bitter finish with mild fruitiness. A good black IPA.

33 cl bottle.
Pours dark red, almost black color with a small head. Aroma of ripe fruits, hops, caramel, malts and some pine needles. Flavor of hops, fruits, some ashy chocolate, mild caramel, licorice, dark toasted malts and some orange. Very nice aroma, but the taste is quite not equal. Nice though.

33 cl bottle @ home, BBE 30.04.2013
Aroma is somewhat light with resin, some vanilla, porridge and hints of fruits. Flavour is rather rich on resin. Also licorice, hops and some ash. A black IPA high on hops, reminds me of Amager Double Black IPA – but this one isn’t that aggressive.

ekstedt (5317) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - SEP 6, 2012
Bottle (33 cl) from Systembolaget. Black with a large beige head. Intense dark chocolate and coffee aroma, some faint citric and piney hops, way too little for the style. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. Semi dry with medium to high bitterness. A very nice foreign/imperial stout/porter..

330ml Bottle - Black with a tan head. Liquorice, plain chocolate, pine and soapy hops in the aroma. Roasted and hoppy taste with notes of bitter plain chocolate, liquorice and soapy hops. More roasted than many beers of this type, but that’s not a criticism.
