En helt svart öl med närmast brunf skum. Doftar tallbar och lite choklad. Ordentlig humle smak med lång eftetrsmak. Ganska medium "body"

Pours nearly black, with brown edges, and a brown head.
Spicy, roasted aroma, with quite a lot of resiny hop notes, grapefruit, spruce, caramel, chocolate, coffee.
Off-dry, medium to full bodied, high bitterness, creamy CO2.
Hoppy, roasted taste, spruce, grapefruit, ashes, grass, chocolate, coffee, tobacco.
This one balances somewhere between a “proper” Black IPA and a hoppy porter. You could wish for a little more punch in the hoppiness, but the balance as it is now makes it all the more drinkable. (2012-09-25)

En svart öl med ett ljusbrunt skum. Doftar kaffe och choklad från den rostade malten och citrus och tallbarr från humle. Samma går igen i smaken, en torr, trevlig munkänsla.

Någon berättade för mig att det här var en högst medioker öl men jag håller inte med. Smaken är visserligen väldigt spretig och obalanserad men hag gillar den ändå. Slutsats: ingen finess men en bra käftsmäll ändå.

Väldigt gott. Frisk humle som möter en mörkare malt som ger kraftig smak av choklad. En trevlig beska med smak av kåda och tall som ligger kvar länge i gommen. Tycker dock det är svårt med benämningen Black IPA. Detta kunde lika väl vara en humlad porter, eller? Väldigt gott var det i alla fall.

Aroma is spruce, roasty, chocolate. Black beer dark brown head. taste is medium bitterness, and roasty. Palate medium body, creamy, thick feel, soft carbonation, long finish, bitter. Aroma is a mix of stouts and ipa, taste is stout, finish is ipa. excellent beer

Bottled:
Pours black with a large and thick head.
Aroma is hops, biscuts, licorice, dark currants and a little bit of smoke.
Hoppy and bitter flavour with notes of dark currants, pine and shampoo leading to a long and warming finish.

UPDATED: SEP 10, 2012 Sample at a tasting. It poured a very dark brown liquid with a brown head. Fresh hoppy smell with lots of tropical fruits. Similar taste but it’s paired up with a roasted bitterness and some dark malts. Nice BIPA. Edit: Tried this again (batch 381) and it lacked hop aroma quite allot. Lowered the score a bit to something inbetween the first and the second tasting.

Pours black with a big tan head.
Aroma like a hoppy IS.
Taste of rosted malt, dark chcolate, oranges and some red currant.

Pours a pitch black colour with a creamy beige head. Aroma of rich roasted malts, English toffee and some herbal notes. Flavour of roasted malts, grassy hops with some floral notes, raisins, salty licorice, dark chocolate and some bready notes. Medium bodied, oily mouthfeel and a roasty, quite bitter finish with mild fruitiness. A good black IPA.
