COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Amerikansk Strong Ale.

2011 330 ml bottle. Clear dark reddish amber with a nice beige head. The aroma is nicely hoppy with some tropical fruits, spruce, grass and a slight hint of herbs. The taste is hoppy and spicy with hints of tropical fruits, toast, spruce needles, pepper and also notes of toffee and herbs. A nice finishing bitterness. Rich in body and some what warming feeling to it. The worthy winner of Sweden’s largest blind test of Swedish christmas/winter beers!

330ml bottle, 2011 edition. Pours a clear, reddish amber, with an off-white head. Hoppy, spicy aromas, spruce, caramel, malt, milk chocolate. Dry, medium to full bodied, high bitterness, balanced CO2, but perhaps a bit on the low side (which in all honesty gives it a nice cask feeling). Hoppy, spicy taste, malt, caramel, apricot, peaches, toffee, dried fruits, a faint grainy note appears in the finish. Overall, a hell of a nice strong ale, it has much of the characteristics of an IPA, but with the intense hoppiness very smoothly toned down, so that the malt really comes into focus. (2012-01-21)

Countbeer (1686) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - JAN 22, 2012
Bottle: Thanks to VsXsV: Small off white creamy yellow-ish head that changes into a lacing and than seems to disappears almost completely on top of a clear orange colored beer with some light ruby tints. Smell hops, barleys, citrus, nettle, light fruity and yeasty. Reminds me a bit of an ipa. Taste is a soft at first but quickly seems to be growing into a more spicy hoppy bitter beer. Pretty nice. Taste is good hoppy with some exotic fruits (mango, citrus, pine and grape) and herbs (light tea-is, light grass), some hints of something light yeasty and a good and growing bitterness. The aftertaste is good bitter with just some hints of grass and herbs and lighter hint of fruit. Low carbo, soft mouthfeel, medium to full body and a creamy texture. Not that it is bad but I guess it misses something in it’s body, still nice bitter (which is dominant in this beer) and hoppy, which is good. I guess there is some depth to this beer, though not really much, but the hoppy bitterness and fruits makes it a good beer to drink! Even after this beer warms up in the glass a bit, the sparkling spicyness seems to make place for a more softer and honey like hoppiness. Getting better...

Fruktiga toner av citrus, om jag nördar rätt så drar tonerna mot kumquat hållet. God är den, för att sedan övergå i rejält bittra toner (inte fel). Slutsats: Clintan utklädd som en Blue Öyster Bar stammis.
