tykjen (183), Florø, Norway Sep 22, 2007 Very nice! Not so strong aroma, but a delicate one with malty wheat-like notes. Fresh tasting with a complex, yet delicate profile. Tart finish, almost on the sour side.
fata2683 (222), APO, New York, USA Nov 21, 2008 Bottle, pours light gold with a thin white head. Aroma is fairly pungent. I’m getting orange juice, wheat, light floral hops and very faint alcohol. Taste is very unique. I’ve never tasted this before, maybe it’s the spelt? Slightly sweet, sugar cane, meets a dry bitter finish with a bold earthy wheat flavor. I’m also suprised that I’m getting a slight slcohol burn at 5 percent, but it’s there. The mouth is highly carbonated and makes this beer very crisp. It’s definatly unique, the finish is odd. Drinkability is good and it’s fairly refreshing like most wheats. I have to say this was an interesting beer. It’s mildly like a wit beer but the finish is obviously different. I would drink it again, if it were in front of me. Maria (4725), Thisted, Denmark Oct 16, 2008 It’s slightly hazy golden and the head is huge and white. The aroma has notes of yeast, light fruit and wheat. The flavour has sweetness and notes of wheat, yeast, light fruit. The overall impression is a bit “edgy”, but otherwise it’s OK and easy to drink. smith4498 (409), Miami, Florida, USA Sep 30, 2008 Pours clear straw color with white head. Fruity Belgian yeast aroma. Mildly sweet with flavors of bread, yeast and spices. Medium body with average carbonation. Easy to drink but not alot of flavors. fonefan (5507), Ulfborg, Denmark Sep 8, 2008 Bottle 25cl @ home.
Clear light yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, wheat - spelt, moderate yeasty, rubber - gum. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration. Body is medium to light, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. (060708) mgermani (646), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Aug 15, 2008 Pours the palest yellow I have ever seen in a beer (and a bit of haze), with the loveliest egg-white head with fantastic retention. Aroma is sweet and yeasty bread - like a Swedish bakery. Tastes like an excellent Witbier, a bit watery but nice and spicy and smooth. Even spicier finish - LOTS of coriander (even a bit too much, as it warms). Still yeasty and sweet. Carb a bit low but good milkshake-like body. I started in on this beer with low expectations but was surprised. It’s a pity that it’s so watery, but I guess that’s an issue with the Spelt. Higher gravity and a bit more cloves, a bit less Coriander, and I would have been hooked. Lovely summer ale.
