COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
SARA has a dark red-brown color, is well hopped, and spicy at the same time. It has a hearty exclusive special taste with sour undertones, accentuated by a very rich aroma, which both come from the buckwheat.

DISCLAIMER: this is the brown, organic (biologique) version of Sara. Note that all versions of Sara are organic, also if it isn’t mentioned on the bottle.

25 cl bottle, ’bbe’ 2006. Very dark amber with a copper shine; a bit cloudy, enormous off-white head. Harsh, spicy aroma containing overdried biscuits with fruit, some nuts and a strong metallic note. Light grainy, sweetish taste with a good orangey-sourish-metallic touch and a very burnt background. Sticky body, dry mouthfeel with a burnt bitter aftertaste. Quite edgy and pretty much out of balance, I’d say.

Bottled 750 ml. Reddish amber color. Large white foamy head. medium bodied. A tangy citrusy taste with a nice lingering aftertaste. Very similar to a hefeweizen. Pretty good summer beer.

Excellent malty aroma. Hazy reddish-brown colour with a lasting off-white head. The flavour is spicy malt with some harsh afternotes. I could wish for some carbonation here.

Dark amber unclear body, huge fast disappearing rocky head. Aroma of sweet malt, light caramel, chocolat, light alcohol, esters, herbs, fruits. Malty flavour, light bodied, more hoppy finish.

Bottle, pours a dark brown color with a small tan head. Nice lacing. Very thin mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Nose is dough, bread, grain, very earthy. Taste is mostly the same. Not my favorite beer, but nicely done.

First buckwheat for me. Copper red-orange-brown. Large frothy head subsides to leaving small veins of lace dribbling in retreat. Interesting aroma of hops, herbs and spice(vanilla?) also some familiar, but undetermined odors. Starts pretty sweet, turning mildly acidic. then finishing a touch bitter. No hops biting the tongue. Warming up, it has an off aftertaste that is not unpleasant yet isn’t that great. I think this would be a better balance ingredients if it had an ABV 7%+. I’ll try it again.

bottle. pours a very hazy honey golden orange with a rocky white headthat diminishes in size but does last, laces well. Great color! initial very big lemon, vinegar, buckwheat? champagne, yeasty (champagne yeast?) reminds me a little of Chimay bleu. very nice palate...lots of sediment though (not a bad thing, just dont drink it). Very unique...drunk best at cool-to warm as the flavors shift at diff. temperatures. Good!

I needed pliers to free the cork from this 750, but when I got it, it came out without a sound. It poured with a nice creamy head and deep chestnut color. The head recedes after a bit. Delicately carbonated with a wonderful mouthfeel. Aroma is earthy with a nice balance between fruity yeast, clean spicy hops and a malty caramel and molasses richness. Flavors of above plus fruit, dried and fresh, a healthy sweetness and a very full, pleasing finish, with a bit of mineral bite (iron?) and faint sourness. This stuff is superb. I don’t actually detect the buckwheat, but this is a winner. Almost has a barleywine character.

Dark copper hazy pour. Spicy nose with a moderate head. Bit of a sour note on mouth, but decent complexity and overall not bad.
