3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 hopscotch (8217) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - FEB 14, 2007
Bottle... Murky, dark amber ale with tons of sediment and a mid-sized, fizzy, off-white head. The aroma and flavor are fruity, vinous and musty with low-key sweetness and minimal bitterness. Light to medium-bodied with soft carbonation. Finishes dusty and fruity.

750 ml corked and caged bottle poured a clear dark brown with a lasting tan head. Aromas of earthiness, carmel, cola, buckwheat and light yeast. Palate was medium bodied and crisp with a smooth finish. Flavors of carmel, buckwheat, light cola and light earthiness with a smooth earthy finish.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 FatPhil (7498) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JUL 14, 2008
Bottle (Ealing BF2008)
Fruity aroma - banana. Tastes a bit like Heinz baked beans. Having said that, it was pretty tasty.
3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 JorisPPattyn (7310) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - MAR 9, 2004
Slight gushing to huge, beige head; foxy-amber beer, all clear. Adstringency in the nose; glue, solvent, plywood and straw. Maybe some dark candi sugar. Quite smoked taste at the onset, dark malts, and - I guess - buckwheat indeed. Unfortunately, the solvent aroma's are back retronasal, if less. Slight acidity and adstringency. Quite well bodied, nevertheless. The solvent is a brewing fault, IMO. Sad, because the beer behind it seems to deserve better.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 MesandSim (7118) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 23, 2006
A Mes rate: Bottle from Twickenham Beer Fest. Wheaty and malty. Very prickly in the palate. Some chocolate. The buckwheat makes it interesting but this is no show stopper.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 CaptainCougar (7093) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - JUN 9, 2003
Dark copper with a thin head. Sour barnyard and bready malt aroma, reminiscent of a saison. Interesting cookie dough bready malt flavor with a dry buckwheat finish. Flowery clover taste and good complexity make this a very under-rated beer, that is as long as you get a good bottle.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 MartinT (6934) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 1, 2005
The Lure: A moving universe of floaties dallies below the corked apricot juice. Rustic supernovae have exploded, but long ago it seems, as mostly remnants are perceived.
The Festivities: The momentous yeastiness was predictable, but not the pretentious, invasive carbonation. Fruity sweetness wades in the soft, dry cereals, but in the end offers little to please.
Transcendence: Your apartment maybe well decorated, but if you never clean it...
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 DocLock (6800) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 14, 2005
750 ml corked bottle from Whole Foods. The cork popped with gigantic force. The color is turbid dark straw with a huge, creamy white head. Even my forehead oil couldn’t bring this head down to size. Aroma of cloves, hopcit, coriander. Nice aroma. The taste is spicy, with the coriander and clove at front palate, giving way to hops and citrus at mid palate and a final blast of sweet honey, spice, and citrus at the finish. Solid complexity and balance. This one is rock solid.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Rune (6125) - Tromsø, NORWAY - JUL 17, 2007
250ml bottle. Frothy, white head, mostly fading away. Hazy, light orange body. Moderate smell of sweet tropical fruit and coriander. Basically the taste is focused on bitter fruits supported by spicy tartness. Dry and rather abrupt ending. Silky mouthfeel (11.07.2007).
