bgoguen (53), Colorado, USA Jun 8, 2006 Had a bottle about a year ago, maybe ten months. The bottle I had may have been too young or maybe too old, I’m not sure. As soon as I opened it the head came oozing out of the bottle and when I poured the head just exploded no matter how gently and slowly I went. I know the carbonation was out of control because when I drank this beer it almost didn’t remain liquid in my mouth it just turned almost completely to foam. This was the most insane, hyperbolic carbonated beer I’ve ever had. I got the feeling it would be a great beer if it wasn’t so carbed. Perhaps I should have let it sit on the counter for an hour or something, although I don’t know if that would have helped. What I did get from it was tasty, floral, and slightly fruity with definite wheat and yeast flavors. I’ll have to get another bottle and see what it’s like (but there are just so many others I need to try and I’m a poor college student).
fata2683 (222), APO, New York, USA Nov 27, 2008 Bottle, pours just like a coke, dark brown, very fizzy, with a brown head that fades as it settles in the glass. Aroma is of dark sugar, cinnamon, wheat, and light alcohol. Taste is light, very light bitterness, some carmel and again wheat are at the forefront, but what is with the carbonation? It’s like drinking a soda. Extremely fizzy, the beer bubbles as it touches my lips. Odd. I liked Joseph better, this isn’t terrible, just not my thing. Ibrew2or3 (1900), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Nov 21, 2008 Courtesy of Keifdog. Pours rosie copper with thin off white head and flat brown floaties. The aroma is moderate with some cherries and apples to go along with raspberry fruity tartness. The taste seems much the same but has a sugar engorged raspberry kool-aid quality to it. Hmm. Behind the kool-aid are muted notes of wheat and possibly malt. sebletitje (579), Tampa, Florida, USA Nov 20, 2008 courtesy of Keifdog
750 ml bottle.
Pours hazy brown, flat with little head.
Aroma, buckwheat and yeasty.
Taste, floral, yeasty, loaded with floating sediments.
Nothing really special here, all we could get was the overbearing presence of the floating chunks. mkobes (2045), paramus, New Jersey, USA Oct 20, 2008 Bottle.
