sampled in the 22 oz bottle ,bought today in Newport ,Oregon. Quite attractive brown with ruby accents in colour, slightly hazy. Good sized bubbly frothy white head. That dissapears fast but leaves nice lace. Spicy hop,and chocolaty malt hop aroma mostly Very spicy taste to this, and with a great malt backbone, some bitterness near the end, but it ends with a long drawn out ripe fruitiness. For some reason figs and raisins come to mind. Very smooth on the palate ,almost like a bottle conditioned beer. Very easy to drink. Nice winter offering from this great little brewery!

Tap @ brewpub. A dark red tinted brown. A warm malty beer that cloys with dark cherry.

From the bottle this pours a dark, lightly cloudy mahogany with a smooth off-white head. Tons of spice overtake the aroma with some crisp spicy hops. Taste kinda brings you through a assortment of flavors finishing with a very dry spicy finish. Nice fruitiness compliments the spice in the finish.

(2005 Newport Microbrew Festival) This winter warmer was very good. Had a crisp hoppy finish and a great overall flavor. The hops where just a perfect flavor for this beer. A good deep dark beer with a great fruitiness and a strong aroma. A great beer.

Sampled bottled
Dark brown color, decent lacing & moderate carbonation. The nose is very spicy with some nutty & Christmassy fruits. Cranberry or something. Eh. The flavor is nicely balanced & musky, very unique.

Dark mahogany with a rocky head and lots of big turds of lace. Spruce aroma with some caramel. Bitter hops as well. Lots of spices in the flavor with some alcohol and bitter hops. Dry palate with a bitter and sour finish, eh.

07-08 Road Trip with BikesandBeer. Had at Horsebrass Pub in Portland. Pours dark amber with a thin tan head. Nose is full of nice light malt. Taste was sweet and spicy with malt, not bad at all.

Much better then the Mojo, dark amber color, small tan head that was short lived. The aroma was malty, and caramel with a light fruit side and mild hops. The flavor came off much the same as the aroma with a bigger caramel and malt and was sweeter then it let on,and a slight fruit side again. The after taste was malty and semi-sweet with a nice hop presence. Not a bad brew at all,and fairly worth getting it here from L.S. easy drinking and flavorful.

SLightly sweet caramel aroma. Caramel sweetness carries throughout and is balanced with a generous bittering. A decent Amber.

Enjoyed this while spending some time with my special friend Allison. The nose is dried fruit, wheat, and berries. The brew pours a murky chestnut with amber blonde highlights. The mostly lasting uber stiff & creamy bone colored head leaves fair lace. The brew has great balance and depth. No shortage of hops bitterness or citric tartness; very well done. The medium creamy body is lively. The finish feels dry and clean.
