kramer (1956), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 7, 2006 12 oz bottle, via kp. Pours a dark copper colored body with a few small chunkies floating about. Small fizzy head fades to a thin film quickly. Aroma is fruity with a little oxidation creeping in. Some light yeast notes. Flavor is of sweet malt and ample ripe fruits. Finish has that oxidation that I got from the aroma. Fairly uncomplex. Mouthfeel is very thin with very fine pinpoint carbonation. Finishes rather dry yet the texture is a little sticky. Overall, this wasn’t the most pleasant drinking experience. Thinned out and bland, avoid this.
thebeertourist (2005), Oslo, Norway Sep 20, 2008 From bottle at Creperie Bretonne, Louvain-la-Neuve. Cloudy amber with a persistent little head. Fruity aroma with hints of chocolate. Sweet fruit and milk chocolate flavours. Scores on originality, though I think milk chocolate is rather less refreshing on a hot summer’s day. Lubiere (3408), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Sep 8, 2008 A hazy dark amber ale with a thin creamy off white head. Pleasant caramel malt aroma, with vanilla cream, oranges, and alcohol. In mouth, a good sweet malt with sustained herbal belgian hopping, coriander, and orange peels. Very nice. Bieropholie imports. BB 19/12/08. Jukkabro (2463), Tampere, Finland Aug 17, 2008 Coppery colored with medium sized yellow head. Chocolate dominates in berry aroma, some interesting raspberry comes up here too. Spices also present. Medium bodied. Flavor is drier with chocolate still here, same sweet berriness comes also up. Licorice even in drying and mildly alcoholic aftertaste. Good beer, interesting filtered one. BoBoChamp (804), Gent, Belgium Jul 22, 2008 33cl, from Geers Oostakker, complex brew, balanced, clear, small head, good brew
