Brown bottle, 33 cl, best before 19/12/08, savoured on July 30 2007; eye: copper with golden reflections, clear, light effervescence, fleeting beige head, lacing; nose: grainy malt, caramelized malt, earthy, slightly fruity, lighty spicy, light alcohol; mouth: syrupy, sugar, caramelized malt, alcohol, pepper, reminding of English ale, a bit of hops, finale is a bit short and dry showing an unusual mix of English ale, spices and alcohol, grainy texture, heavy, mildly sweet, slightly bitter, full body, rather carbonated; overall: fine with an extra mark for the unusual finish

Bouteille brune, 33 cl, meilleure avant 19/12/08, savourée le 30 juillet 2007; œil : cuivrée avec des reflets dorés, claire, légère effervescence, mousse beige fugace, dentelle; nez : malt granuleux, malt caramélisé, terreuse, très légèrement fruitée, légèrement épicée, léger alcool; bouche : sirupeuse, sucre, malt caramélisé, alcool, poivre, a des relents de ale anglaise, un peu de houblon, finale un peu courte et sèche montrant un inhabituel mélange de ale anglaise, épices et alcool, texture rugueuse, lourde, moyennement sucrée, très légèrement amère, corsée, plutôt carbonatée; en résumé : bien, avec un point d’extra pour la finale inhabituelle

Sep 20, 2008 From bottle at Creperie Bretonne, Louvain-la-Neuve. Cloudy amber with a persistent little head. Fruity aroma with hints of chocolate. Sweet fruit and milk chocolate flavours. Scores on originality, though I think milk chocolate is rather less refreshing on a hot summer’s day.

Sep 8, 2008 A hazy dark amber ale with a thin creamy off white head. Pleasant caramel malt aroma, with vanilla cream, oranges, and alcohol. In mouth, a good sweet malt with sustained herbal belgian hopping, coriander, and orange peels. Very nice. Bieropholie imports. BB 19/12/08.

Aug 31, 2008 Bu au Festival Bière et Saveur 08 (31/8), en bouteille au kiosk Univin. Blonde dorée, pas brune?, mince collet. Arome de malte un peu végétal, légèrement caramelisé. Goût de malte très légé, mais la sensation d’alcool est très présante. C’est de la bouette ça!

Aug 17, 2008 Coppery colored with medium sized yellow head. Chocolate dominates in berry aroma, some interesting raspberry comes up here too. Spices also present. Medium bodied. Flavor is drier with chocolate still here, same sweet berriness comes also up. Licorice even in drying and mildly alcoholic aftertaste. Good beer, interesting filtered one.
