Hazy, dark orange colour. Bready, yeasty aroma. Flavour is also yeasty with bittersweet orange. Has a rich, warming feel. Is a bit sticky.

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, golden to light-amber colour with a mid-sized slightly off-white foamy head. Nutty cara-malty aroma with notes of dried fruits and shades of alcohol. Sweet flavour, full bodied with a calm carbonation. Sugary cara-malty aroma with notes of candied almonds and fruits, accompanied by secondary aromas of nuts and a vaguely vinous touch; slightly sugary sweet malty finish with subtle vinous fruity notes and a well-masked alcoholic strength. 08.VI.12

UPDATED: JUN 11, 2013 Very sweet ale. Also creamy, full body. Some bitterness in the aftertaste but that’s not a beer for me.

Bottle@home, 0.33cl. Broken white head. Red copper color. Aroma sweets, hay, tobacco. Taste malt, bitter. Palate dry, CO2, bitter. Overall dangerous, you don’t notice the alcohol.

From a 33cl. Pours a nice red amber color, with a nice thick beige head. Aroma of sweet malts and fruits. Flavors of malts, dry red fruits, sugars and sirups. Nice full body, creamy, but over sweet. The sweetness it to much overpower at the end, result, can only have one. Not really refreshing nor pleasant.

Brown 33cl bottle, best before 11/2008, drank 07/2007, my bottle says 9.50%. Poured into a Hoegaarden Grand Cru tulip glass. Good light amber, come pale brown, it looks fine, a half inch off-white head sits on top. Toffee esters hit my nose from the bottle before I poured the beer, it wasn’t so strong once the beer was in the glass. You can smell the alcohol, it is hidden in the woody aroma, but it is there for sure. If you can get past the alcohol kick the flavours of caramel and toffee come into play, some spice in there too, but can’t tell which ones. Despite the high alcohol content this is a well balanced and well made beer. A little sweet, but overall, a very good beer.

Bottled, 330ml from Marche de Natalie, Bouillon, Belgium. Gold to amber with white head. Some fruitiness in the malts, touches of peach and sultana with a yeasty spicy background. A little pear drop sweetness thrown in. Reasonable enough.
