Orange to red, small tight head. Huge malty, dark aroma. Some lemon too. Very soft palate. Rich malty body, but a lovely crisp raw hoppy later taste. Leaves pure hop flowers as a finish. Some sweetness, also occasional hint of alcohol. Yes, in part, this beer is divine! Stays darkly malty to the bottom. sebletitje (258), Tampa, Florida, USA Aug 12, 2008 33cl bottle.
Pours dark amber with beige head.
Aroma is yeasty and some licorice/vanilla notes.
Taste is liquorish malty, sugary caramel, lightly fruity (apricot). Little touch of biscuit.
Overall, a very complex beer with the alcohol that is quite present. It pours a hazy amber beer with a slightly tanned head. Buttery nose with a lot of caramel accompanied by coconut and aniseed. Huge amounts of caramel showing up in the taste too. Alcoholic. Buttery with hints of coconut. Full bodied. Malty. Extremely beautiful lacing. Hints of aniseed. Some cherries and woody elements sneaking in. Spicy finish. Outstanding appearance. thewolf (3607), Kolding, Denmark Jun 20, 2008 Bottle, bought @ Plan B, Cph.
Pours muddy amber with a big, creamy, off-white head. Aroma is vinious, malty, caramel, some oxidation and soft chocolate. Fine, rather light mouthfeel and high-ish carbonation. Good vinious feel, caramel, yeast. Nice balance of sweetness and bitterness, though it is a bit one-sided.
