Aroma is raisins, toffee, fudge some sweet malts and licorice. Flavour is licorice along with caramel malts and some fudge. Mild notes of cinnamon and also soem slight alcohol can be traced, but fits in the beer really well. Wellbalanced and pleasant. argo0 (6284), Washington DC, USA Mar 3, 2007 (25cl bottle, best by 22/09/07) Lightly hazed copper body topped by medium beige head. Aroma is sweet, strong butterscotch, some toffee/caramel, light raisin. Taste is overly sweet, butterscotch, some candi sugar, caramel, light metallic. Light-medium body, alcohol not noticeable. Rastacouere (5418), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Oct 1, 2006 Updated: Oct 3, 2006Copper and hazy body, light white head. Sweet caramelised brown sugar and mild anise make for a very straightforward and kinda dull nose. Toasted sugar keeps on in mouth, fat cookies, butter… Duh, rather dull and very sweet offering, the carbonation faild to engage or compensate the sweetness which take advantage of it and leave a rather oily touch in mouth after swallowing. That’s too bad, the previous ratings made it seem like it’s worth seeking. TBone (5171), Pori, Finland Jun 25, 2005 Bottled 25cl (BB 08/2006)
amber-ruby color with huge tight brownish head, nice lace. Aroma has plums, dates, coffee and roasted malts. Full-bodied - toffeish and sweet. Flat mouthfeel. Molasses, maple syrup and again plums (and raisins) in the flavor. Alcohol is present in the finish. Leaves roasted aftertaste. Nice complex beer.
