15cl draft sample @ Kerstbierfestival ’11, Essen. Cuivrée, col ocre. Arôme malt grillé, voire biscuité avec une présence fruitée noire typique de ces bières de saisons. En bouche, retrouve le profile de br. Silly dans la levure, fruits noirs avec en retrait cette présence presque de pâte et biscuit, le tout présente une amertume légère. Ce côté festif est en retrait avec pour moi un aspect houblonné voir malt amer qui est trop présent. Pas mauvais, le mélange fruité noire et cette bonne présence de grains sont appréciables.

Draught @ Cafe Becoloth, Boxtel. Nice clear deep dark ruby red color, average sized off-white head. Smell is decently balanced with malts, some fruityness, a hint of alcohol and lightly sweet. Taste malts, sweet, lightly some alcohol and a fruity bitterness towards the end. Nicely balanced. Full bodied, medium carbonation. Pretty nice.

on tap at Locus Publicus, Rotterdam. Thin white head. Clear amber pour. Pretty good beer.

Clear copper red to brownish beer, creamy light beige head, pretty stable, adhesive. Aroma: caramel, red fruit, fresh fruit, some spices. MF: light carbon, medium to full body. Taste: some caramel, stone fruit, bit alcoholic, sweet malts, milk chocolate, bitter hops. Aftertaste: caramel, hop bitterness, some spices.

Draft @ Essen Kerstbierfestival 2011. Very dark brown coloured beer with some light carbonation and an average off white head. Buttery yeasty hinted aroma (slight infection?) and light herby touches. Full light creamy palate; Finish is sweet buttery and ligth herby yeasty hinted. Medium.

A clear red/brown colored beer, with a thick beige head. The aroma of caramel with fruits and some hop bitter. The taste of dark red fruits, cherries with hop bitter. The aftertaste is sweet with some bitterness.

dark amber brown color. almost no head or carbonation. brown sugar sweetness. malty aroma.

ABT beer of the month december. On draft. Dark brown, with red glow and nice beige head. Smell is that of candy, very sweet. Taste is sweet at first, with candy, cinnamon, cloves, toffee. Aftertaste is more bitter. Body is thinner than you’d expect for this type of beer and the alcohol percentage.

On tap @ de Paas. Dark ruby colour with a tanned head. Full caramel, syrup aroma. Flavour is full of caramel sweetness, along wit some burnt malts behind. Good balance beer, great for winter times. Good brew, I really enjoyed this one.
