TheGrandMaster (1526), Auckland, New Zealand Oct 10, 2008 Bottle (in NZ - "Real Belgian Pils"), pours a clear straw-gold with a filmy head. Boring nose of earthy malt and grassy hops. A touch sweeter than your usual Pilsner (I expect from the yeast), an initially creamy palate gets cleaned out in the swallow by a spicy hop finish. From the labelling, I actually thought it was going to be worse. madquacker (528), Canberra ACT, Australia Oct 1, 2008 I’m presuming this is what is called "Real Belgian Pils" in Oz. Watery bland with a pale straw yellow colour and no head. If this is real Belgain pils I think I will stick with the Czech stuff and Belgian trappist beers. bluevegie (1814), Perth, Australia Sep 8, 2008 Yes this was a Silly Pils but in Oz it is a real belgian pils. Clear, very pale gold body with a pathetic head. Aroma was citric as well as corn. Taste wasn’t any better than the aroma, fairly sweet corn and lemon again with thin body. Unfortunately I bought a couple of stubbies, geez I was silly. Borresteijn (672), Amstelveen, Netherlands Aug 21, 2008 On tap @ in de Wildeman, last spring. Typical Belgian Pilsener, sharp, sweet, light bitter finish. Dry.
