wyzzywyz22 (238), Wirral, Merseyside, England Jun 26, 2008 Bottle, Hoopers, East Dulwich. Poured a lightly hazy dark orange colour. Decent light brown head. Rich malty aroma with hints of caramel, dark fruit and some herb. Flavour is quite sweet with quite a bit of fruit. Some sourness in the finish. Teeters on the cloying side, but just about pulls through. KimJohansen (2304), Copenhagen V, Denmark Jun 23, 2008 Clear dark amber with medium beige head. Sweet fruity aroma with caramel and roasted malt. Sweet and somewhat spicy flavor with roasted malt, caramel and yeasty notes. nwilder (32), Denmark Jun 19, 2008 The Saison pours a deep copper amber with a fine off-white foam. The nose is dominated by caramel, bread, molasses, butterscotch, raisin, and a slight indistinct spicy note. Upon tasting the molasses and fruit dominate and a good amount carbonation brings the experience to life. As it fades an interesting licorice like sensation brings rich caramel attention to the back of the mouth. A remarkable effect in a beer of medium body. mutant (839), Melbourne, Australia Jun 16, 2008 Chestnut colour with a big beige head, light carbonation. Fruity and slightly vinuous aroma. Has an intense flavour of raisins and caramel. Much more tasty than the Aussie Saison I had before it. This more experienced brewer has more confidence. I’m liking this style now, wish I could get more of them. sunevdj (1346), Copenhagen, Denmark Jun 2, 2008 75cl Bottle on a "fine summer evening". Pours a clear brown with a tanned head. Sweet with some dryness. Hints of dates. Quite bready. Also residual sugars. Full bodied with a sticky mouthfeel. High carbonation. Dry and bitter finish.
