2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
In short: A generic fruity Belgian amber ale. Not much of a Saison
How: Bottle 330ml at Cambrinus, Brugge, Belgium
The look: Clear amber body topped by a long-lasting small beige head
In long: Nose is mostly about typical fruity esters of generic yeasty Belgian ale. Taste is more of the same. Very fruity, tropical fruits, berries, dark fruits… just overall fruity. No sign of wild yeast, no dryness, nothing that hints on the Saison style. Hard to say anything about this beer other than this is a basic fruity Belgian amber ale. I love Saisons so I had to try this one. Did you really expect a half-decent Saison from this boring brewery? Don’t be absurd, this is Silly.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Medium off white head. Reddish amber body. Nose is wheat, sulphur, red fruit, white grape, cherries, oak, spice. Sweet notes. Gentle sourness that gradually builds. Dry finish. Refreshing. Like a watered down Rodenbach.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark... As in not light... Light amber ... Sweet smelling and taste. Definitely sweet fruit dominates over any funk. Very easy to drink yet pretty forgettable. But good yet lacking???

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. I was drawn to it because of the ’silly’ name. Dark red - was expecting something paler - with a small white head that doesn’t endure. Aroma is sweet caramel, some cherry, not typical saison character. Body is medium to light, carbonation is spritzy. Taste is slightly sour, quite watery with a saaz-like lager finish. A little disappointing, but drinkable.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Murky, dark copper with no head. Aromas of yeast, caramel, sweet malt and stewed fruit. Overly sweet candy sugar, malt, a touch of stewed fruit and a wheat like sourness. Flabby and sugary mouthfeel with no carbonation. Average. A saison?

bottle. Brown with small head. Sweet with caramel malt. Light belgian yeast. Doesn’t seem the least bit like a Saison to me.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
33 cL bottle at home. Pours hazy brown/copper with a medium off-white head. Aroma is a bit sweet and malty with some caramel, a bit of fruitiness and metal. Taste is quite flat with a little bit of caramel, malts and some fruity notes. Light to medium body, medium carbo. Not so good.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft sample. Pours a clear amber with a khaki head that leaves a thick doily lace. Nose involves crusty bread, floral and grassy hop notes. Pretty sweet, slightly tart, lightly bitter. Medium bodied, creamy, softer carb, with a long doughy finish. A nice brew, different for a saison due to darker color and lack of dryness on the end.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
If any kind of saison, a black one although its’ really brown. the beige head is large and retains well. A please to have this drink in China, or the Philippines whereever I am. The aroma is caramely but at least a little yeasty. The flavor is tingy, alchy, and earthy yeast. All weak and a little too sweet but a good departure from the pale lager hell I am stuck in in SE Asia. Medium body and dry finish.
