Light brown with no head. The aroma is caramel, maybe some nuts. The taste is sweet, with caramel. The body is thin, and the alcohol begins to seep through as it warms. Nowhere near as good as its competitor Ursus Black.

0,33l bottle as gift from Romania. Clear, reddish amber color with medium, off-white head. Caramel, grain and roasted malt odor. The aroma is the same. Light roasty, grainy aroma, but a sweet, butterscotch flavour dominates. I’m sure, that this beer contains pure caramel, not just caramel malt. It’s a bit industrial solution, but it works. Medim sweet taste followed by a sour-bitter malty flavour. Light spicy hops also appear in the background. Light to medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation. The aftertaste is a classic, roasted malty flavour without butterscotch. It’s a light-brown easy-drink beer. I couldn’t drink a big amount because of the sweetness, but a glass to start the night is perfect. It reminds me a bit to the German Bock beers, but cheaper and not that qualitative.

Bottle. Clear light brown pour with an off white head. Sweet malty aromas. Good carbonation with a decent body. A little bland with sweet malt, light corn and cereal notes. A nice session beer for relaxin on the Black Sea.....

Clear ruby with off-white foam head lacing to the glass. Aroma is orange. Taste is sweet fruity. Little or no aftertaste at all. (Bucharest 201208) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On draught at Toulouse in Clu-Napoca. Not bad for a Dutch beer. OK, a Romanian beer with a Dutch nudge. Caramel and alcohol, length in malt and flavour to the end.

Best beer ever. Caramel taste, strong dark flavor, 7 percent, alcohol. Better taste than ursus black.

Can in Iasi. Reddish brown and flat. Smells awfully sweet, of malt extract, but tastes more developed with mostly sweet dough and also a little crust Could use more lively carbo. Is no Ursus Black but not bad.

Can 50 cl from Miha grocery shop Paris. Aroma is very sweet and caramel like with corn and barley sugar, very near the French beer ’Pelforth Brune’.Drinkable but less complex.

Probably the best dark beer you can find in Romania, great aroma, complex palate and an awesome first and overall taste.
