First, a big thank you goes out to my buddy Brian for bringing me this back on his last trip to Romania. Those poor souls in Romania...ugh..some of the beers he’s brought back were good and others were just plain awful. This one was all that bad though. It suprised me with the level of hops that was found, with a bit of spicy hop note. The beer seemed overly attenuated, with a dry, chemical-like aftertaste. Almost no malt character, esp for a dunkel. Maybe the 7% comes from the extra sweetness that should be there? The beer looked like rusty rain water in my glass with a light tan frothy head.

Can 0.50L. Courtesy of Kita. Clear amber color with medium big, light brown head. Aroma of dried plums, cherries, nuts, caramel. Taste starts light bitter with dried grapes and touch of liquor. It finish the same way with bitter/sweet aftertaste. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Damn, nice surprise!

clear dark amber beer with half inch creamy beige-ish head; aroma of mild roasted coffee, some toffee, plum and some ash; taste of a light coffe with a bit too much sugar, toasted rye bread and some minimal dried fruity notes; surprisingly good beer

Can, 0.50l, shared with colleagues. Pours clear dark brown color with thin creamy tan-like head and sparkling appearance. Aroma of caramel, roasted malt and grass. Taste starts with sweet caramel, follows by roasty undertones, mouthfeel is dry and alcoholic, while finish is moderate bitter. Light to medium body, sticky texture and lively carbonation in palate. Surprise, surprise, not bad at all...

Can from Romania don't know where. Clear reddish dark brown beer with a small bubbly beige I thin it was head. Aroma is sweet, malty, a bit syrupy, plums, dark bread, brown sugar, some liqueur tones maybe. Taste is sweet, some alcohol, dark bread, sweet bready malts. Mouthfeel a bit thin. Finish smooth and some bitterness. Rather ok. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
