2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at Silver City, pours a filthy cloudy orangey yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out bananas and citrus, maybe a touch of clove. Flavour is along the same lines, with banana upfront, followed by citrus, wheat and clove. Clean and balanced, but nothing special. Decent.

3.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Tap at Beveridge Place in West Seattle with commonshawn and rosskyle. Pint glass on Micro Monday. Beautiful appearance...cloudy, unfiltered golden orange with just a little head. Aroma is more floral than anticipated with a refreshing dash of spices. Taste has plenty of banana and wheat. Spices are present and gives a full, almost bready feel. Decent, better version of mainstream hefeweizens. Falls off the table at the end. Disappointing finish.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle (22oz $4.50): Cloud golden with big white head. Yeast armoma and taste quite strong. Taste some fruit (banana?). Nice hefeweizen, but would prefer in 12oz bottles.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Poured from a bomber into a weizen glass on 03.28.14.
A: Cloudy light orange. There’s no yeast cloud at the top. It’s simply all cloudy.
S: Smells like a witbier. Spices. Weird.
T: Orange, strong spices.
M: Too watery.
O: This has an edge to it on the back end. It’s almost bitterness, but not quite. This is definitely in the American style for hefs despite its title. I’m more of a purist, but this could use an orange slice to take the edge off. This seemed like a not so great witbier rather than a hef. I didn’t care for it.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Seemed rather bitter and sour for a hefe. The banana/clove aroma was definitely the front note, but there’s a marvelous & interesting aroma going on here. I sat with my nose in the glass for a long time. Cloudy amber color, light & thin palate. Not a ’standard’ hefeweizen, but fits in the family.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours a very cloudy orange-amber color with a moderate off-white head on there. Nose is quite yeasty with a moderate amount of clove on there, and a fair amount of wheat coming through as well. Taste is light and creamy, with a hint of sweetness and some wheat and subtle banana to it. Interesting.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Beautiful hefe. Getting a lot of banana notes in the flavor, and the flavor is quite prominent. There’s a hoppiness or perhaps a dryness that is a tad unusual, but perhaps not in a PNW brew. Very good; very recommended.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at BPP. Micro Monday! Gold pour with fluffy white head. Aroma of lemon zest, cloves, and just a bit of banana. Taste: lemon zest is what I notice most prominently, with muted banana and cloves behind. Lightly sweet. Finishes wheaty and slightly bitter. Palate: light body, lively carbonation, crisp. Overall: light and refreshing, a nice summer beer, and one of the better local hefe examples I’ve come across.
