3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle to snifter, shared at home with my wife.
Pours clear deep mahogany. Minimal head, dissipates quickly, leaving first a ring around the edge and then nothing.
Aroma: Toffee, apple, cherry, vanilla. Inviting.
Taste: Red-licorice candy sweet. Minimal hop bitterness.
Palate: Full bodied, moderate carbonation. The sweet-sticky mouth-coating lingers long after the beer is finished.
Overall: Drinking this beer reminds me of what I like about the Silver City Fat Wood Scotch Ale. This is a nice dessert to curl up with on a cold night like tonight.

Average barley wine. Comes across as a bit flat, and is boozy even at 8.5%. There are better. B-

Bottle pour. This was a treat! I was skeptical with íChristmasí in the description. Deep amber pour with a slight white head. Nose is toffee and caramel. Taste is a bit on the sweet side, but lots of good stuff happening: some subtle Belgian spice, toffee, vanilla, and some nice hops to balance. Very nice!

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Rich dark red in color that is clear with minimal white head that disappears, except for a small ring around the inside of the glass. Strong aromas of booze and fruit. Very heavy tastes. Notes of cherry and a touch of smokiness. Very malty, a bit of sweet apple comes out in the finish. Alcohol is surprisingly masked but is still detectable. Late spice comes on at the finish. Medium carbonation. This is one for sipping. Very nice warming effect. Very nice ale that has a lot going on. Only complaint is the sweetness and richness is a little much but overall I still like this alot.

Bomber from riversideAK. Thanks a ton Alex! Nose is black cherry, prunes, toffee, hints of bubblegum, and dark bread. Sweet and malty. Clear rusty cherry with a small beige head. Flavor is lightly sweet, caramelized brown sugar, a butterscotch note, and a bit of background bitterness.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
A darkish amber color with an off-white head. For such a big beer, itís a bit bland on the nose. But, there is a nice fruitiness of cherry and maybe grape, especially as it warms up a bit. There is just a hint of spice on the finish. Sweet bready malt flavor with a nice touch of banana, caramel, and brown sugar. More dark fruit character on the palate and a hint of warming alcohol.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nice sweet nose. Dried dark fruit, brown sugar, residual sugars, apples, pepper, caramel. Pours a nice reddish color with little to no head. Nice and sweet but not over the top. Flavors of caramel, brown sugar, dried fruits, apples, apricots, etc and all that shit. Nice body, sweetness linger but it is never the top. A nice local old ale.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draught. Pours a dark clear amber with a persistent offwhite head. Smells of raisin, brown sugar, and dark dried fruits. Tastes syrupy sweet, but tempered with a nicely balanced bitter. Creamy and syrupy texture. Finishes wet. A very nice beer.

2.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours medium brown and clear. Aroma is very sweet malt with complex fruit tones. Itís down hill from there. The primary flavor is just pure sweet malt which is do not like in any beer. In this one, there is some subtle complexity to it, but I just canít get past the unrefined sweetness of this one. Never again.
