5000 (2401), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA Jun 30, 2004 Updated: Jun 21, 2005Bottle pours deep amber, slightly hazy, small cream colored head, fantastic lacing, with minor carbonation. Malts on the nose, quite biscuity. Forwardly malty, rather smooth and sweet too. WOW, this is really tasty! Medium body, velvety mouthfeel, with a crisp clean finish. This is one smooth and easy to drink amber... a nice malty flavor, slightly sweet, maybe a bit nutty... just superb! A bit light, but as a summer seasonal it fits perfectly!

Gromit (450), Port Orchard, Washington, USA Apr 11, 2005 Goodness, I didn’t get the swell growler of this, only the bomber. Andre’s bottle looks cooler.
Pours an almost mahogany color with a thin head that doesn’t leave too much lace, but some.
Aroma is strong even though I’m just getting over a cold. Sweet like an Amber with with a slight pine/hop presence and a little...bready?
Flavor is great. Amber is one of my least liked styles and I like what SC has done with this. Lots of malt but it’s well balanced with the hops. Due to the aforementioned cold I can’t detect too many details but this is complex with caramel and some definite darker fruits in there.
Palate is full and on the crisp side. Overall this is really good and worth the drive over to this side of the Puget Sound to sample. Nicely done.
fakepurseninja (578), Washington, USA Nov 17, 2008 22 oz’r. Great lightly roasted caramel malt backbone with a big, sweet toffee and cracker component and just enough light pine hop presence to bring it together. Very light citrus notes. Great session beer. CapFlu (3353), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada Sep 9, 2008 (Draught) Sampled at the Great Canadian Beer Festival 2008 in Victoria, September 7. Pours an amber body with a thin, white frothy head. Nose is very floral. Mild malt base with a flowery hop top. Good. IndianaRed (1470), Boise, Idaho, USA Apr 29, 2007 On Tap at the brewpub. Clear red amber with a small fleeting head and only spece of off white lacing. Aroma of medium woody malts. 5lavor is sweet and woody malts wwith very little hops. Palate is moderate and like the othres I had tonight’ a bit chalky feeling. Tasty though.
