Commercial Description:
An American original, amber ales combine medium maltiness and caramel character with American variety hops. This amber rocks! Ridgetop Red is Silver City's answer to anyone looking for a mild and malty, highly drinkable, yet fresh and full flavored beer. Northwest Liberty hops and three select German specialty malts along with a tempered fermentaion, results in a distinctly northwest ale with a smooth body and a the crisp finish of a German alt beer.

Tap @ Brewery: Auburn, light head, great lacing. Nose of light caramel and grass. Subtle yeast and some caramelly malt esters. Light fruit in the tail, dry finish. Blah.

22 oz. bottle - pours clear and dark copper with no head; stale malt aromas and low carbonation; thin body with very slight malt backbone; pretty blah over all

22 oz bottle, via 5000. Pours a mostly clear copper to light amber body with a slight yeast haze under a small fizzy off-white head. The nose is equally balanced between toasted, lightly caramel, maltiness and a soft perfumy floral hoppiness. The flavor is malt centered with a slightly sweet toasted grain base with just a light accent of lightly bitter hops on the finish. Mouthfeel is fairly light bodied with moderate soft fizzy carbonation. Pretty good among the arena of Amber Ales.

Bomber. Pours clear coppery amber with a lacy off-white head. Thin aroma, just a touch of caramel, dust, earthy hops. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Sweet, malty nutty toffee taste. The finish is just lightly bitter, with the same earthy quality as the nose. It almost seems like they’re positioning this as a gateway brew, not too assertive, but with a enough flavor to draw you in.

purchased at central market in poulsbo, washington. pour is clear copper-red with a thin beige head that within 30 seconds is gone, no lacing. smell is of grass, roasted malt, touch of nuts, small scent of bread dough. taste is weak, watery, some malt, bit sour, some fruit, wood. overall not impressed, i would agree with Oakes in that it is a bit like a ch-ch-cherry cola.
