3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 mcberko (4053) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 16, 2013
On tap at Elizabeth Station, pours a hazy copper orange with a small white head. Aroma of piney and floral hops, a little orange fruit, and some caramel malt. Flavour brings out dry citrusy and orangey hops, bitter floral hops, and slightly caramelized biscuity malt. The hops are fairly astringent on this one, with sufficient malt to back. Solid IPA.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 jgb9348 (3964) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - FEB 8, 2013
Bright copper coloured body with an orange glow and a thick, two centimetre tall just off-white head. Aroma of bright floral and piney hops with a good malt backbone and a little apricot and peach sweetness. Medium-bodied; Nice assertive floral and perfumey hop notes in the taste with a solid malt flavour with some toffee noticeable, but more of the sugars from fruits are noticeable. Aftertaste shows a lot of piney and floral hop flavours with a hint of sweetness, but a great balance and a very nice hoppy flavour. Overall, great to try and well worth finding it if you can get it! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Seattle (Westlake), Washington on 08-February-2013 for US$4.99 sampled a few hours later in my hotel room here in Seattle.
3.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Hanuta06 (142) - Washington, USA - DEC 29, 2012
UPDATED: JAN 4, 2013 Serving: from tap at Schultzy’s Sausage.
Aroma: lightly hoppy.
Appearance: average-sized, frothy, white, initial head with fully diminishing longevity and fair lacing. Clear, flat-looking, amber body.
Taste: moderately bitter initial taste with moderately bitter finish and long duration.
Palate: medium-bodied with watery texture and soft carbonation.
Overall: Exceptional IPA. Just enough hops to get the right aroma and flavor without being overpowering and overly bitter. Look forward to drinking this again.

Bomber. Questionable freshness or this just isn’t that good. Aroma and flavor are dominated by caramel malt. Only a slight bitterness. I get a hint of some nice citrus hops but they fail to produce any meaningful flavors. Where did the hops go.

ill start with a summery: looks great, smells good, first taste fine, finishes lame.
pours a clear amber-orange with a small egg-shell head, very good lacing.
smell is of grapefruit hops, citrus, caramel, nuts, grass hidden in the back.
taste at first is creamy then becomes thin and watery, grapefruit, roasted nuts, some citrus, strange aftertaste.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 5000 (4974) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - JUL 19, 2012
Bottle:   Amber in color, moderate white frothy head, some nice lacing.   Somewhat of a stale hoppy nose, slightly sweet citrus peel and pith.   Somewhat of a dusty citrusy start, pithy, but without a lot of bitterness.   Flavorful, but not too sharp.   Certainly a citrus based IPA.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Seems a sweeter example, has some nice citrus and hop flavor but without the bitterness.   Smooth, but could stand to be a bit heavier.   Very easy drinking, and a great clean IPA that isn’t harsh or overpowering.   Certainly sweeter than most too.   Nice!
Earlier Rating: 3/23/2005 Total Score: 3 Bottle pours orange oriented golden, slightly hazy, mediocre white frothy head, lively carbonation, with spotty lacing.   Hop nose, biscuit (or pale malts), and a bit of pine sol.   Decent start, juicy on the hop front, but quickly slides into a slightly astringent/medicinal sorta hop juice.   As it warms it becomes less noticable.   Fairly average body and mouthfeel... slightly syrupy on the exit, a bit cloying.   The 6.9% is now kicking my butt.   Muttled finish... not terribly clean.   Stick with the Whoop Pass IPA.
