Saint Florian, the Patron Saint of Firefighters, is now a Northwest IPA . A portion of Saint Florian’s proceeds will go to a Washington State Council of Firefighters benevolent fund. Silver City Brewery has a long standing partnership & tradition of working with our local Firefighters. The Benevolent Fund supports firefighters and their families as well as the general public, in their time of need. Saint Florian IPA, formerly Indianola IPA, uses Washington grown Cascade & Columbus hops that are boldly citrus, floral and piney. What better way to enjoy a truly local handcrafted IPA then knowing you are supporting those that keep us safe. Cheers to you and Cheers to Firefighters everywhere!

UPDATED: JAN 4, 2013 Serving: from tap at Schultzy’s Sausage. Aroma: lightly hoppy. Appearance: average-sized, frothy, white, initial head with fully diminishing longevity and fair lacing. Clear, flat-looking, amber body. Taste: moderately bitter initial taste with moderately bitter finish and long duration. Palate: medium-bodied with watery texture and soft carbonation. Overall: Exceptional IPA. Just enough hops to get the right aroma and flavor without being overpowering and overly bitter. Look forward to drinking this again.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle today. A: Flower, caramel malt. A: 1 1/2 finger head that stays. See through amber body. T: Pine, lingering flower, and caramel malt dominate. P: Smooth with very slight resin. Medium mouthfeel. O: It’s an old-school IPA. It’s easy and enjoyable to drink, but average.

Medium amber orange with a white, creamy head. Citrus and pine in the aroma with a bit of a sweet malt profile, too. Medium bodied. Flavor is mostly citrus and floral with a decent pine, too. A bit sweet underneath the hops. The finish is mildly dry with lingering bitterness. Quite a nice IPA.

Bottle (12oz $1.80): Clear Copper with white head that disappears pretty quickly. Floral aroma. Pretty piney taste. Not much citrus. Lingering pinely bitterness in the end. Not a favorite but would drink again.

22oz in Seattle. Darker mahogany. Medium amber aroma, soft caramel, fruity red fruit. Hops come in softly at end, some pine, but lots of caramel. Solid but not too interesting.
