CapFlu (3353), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada Sep 10, 2007 (Draught) Sampled at the Great Canadian Beer Festival 2007 in Victoria on September 7th, 2007. Thin white with a cloudy orange body. Nose is overboard with orangey hops. Very strong flavour. Unbelievably good!
fakepurseninja (578), Washington, USA Dec 1, 2008 Fantastic example of the PNW IIPA. Great blend of hops giving the drink the soft resiny, piney component without being overly assertive and astringent. Nice citrus notes along with a lightly sweet, biscuity caramel malt backbone. robforbes (784), Bremerton, Washington, USA Nov 26, 2008 pours a semi-clear amber-orange with a medium size cream colored head, good lacing.
smell is of caramel, pine, hops, and malt in the back.
taste is thick and slightly oily, hops up front, some malt hidden in the back, a touch of sweetness at first that vanishes rather quickly and is replaced by a pinenut, some caramel in there too.
stchloe (242), Portland, Oregon, USA Oct 28, 2008 This beer is amazingly bitter, but the profile is somewhat sparse. Tastes like hops, just not any particular kind. SuzyGreenberg (1067), Seattle, Washington, USA Sep 30, 2008 draft @ uber - been waiting to try this for a while now and it didn’t disappoint; thick head and very cloudy orange; huge, juicy hop aromas, but this is mostly a candy hop bomb; drinks very sweet with a nice, almost chewy texture; lots of fruit and the bitterness is covered well by the sweetness; thick and malty; very nice and not like too many IIPA’s i’ve had before anders37 (2819), Malmö, Sweden Sep 22, 2008 Draught @ Über Tavern, SEattle. Pours a hazy orange color with a small white head. Malty hoppy pine needles and grapefruit aroma. Sweet malty and very hoppy piney flavor with some hints of grapefruit. Long hoppy bitter finish with a long bitter piney aftertaste.
