Pours a reddish copper color with a thin white head that leaves spotty lacing. Smells of roasted malt, caramel, and slight chocolate. Tastes of all the same things and slightly hoppy for a bock. Mouthfeel is medium and creamy with good carbonation. Overall this was pretty mediocre for a winter seasonal and I’m surprised Silver city with their reputation brews this year after year instead of brewing something new and better.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a medium sized head of foamy finely sized light tan colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a strongly carbonated transparent cola brown colored body and a thick foamy lacing. The mild aroma was brown malt. The semi-thick mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a lingering caramel hop aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of Vienna malt mild spice burnt malt and brown malt. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.

22 oz. Bottle Purchased @ The Ballard Market for $5.49. Thin wispy lace off white head. Clear dark bronze red color with dark ruby edges. No sediment. Mild roasted malt aroma. Smooth semi sweet roasted caramel fruit mellow flavored medium textured smooth rich Bock body. Mild hop lingering Roasted Black Cherry end. Fresh lively rich Dark Winter Lager. Much better than the Winter Bocks I tasted in my recent visit to Berlin.

Dark brown pour, decent head that lasts, mild malt aroma. Taste is malt with almost a hint of spice, but overall it’s not very interesting. Was hoping for better.

From tap at Taphouse Grill. Pours clear and golden deep amber with a small off-white and lacing head. Aroma is roasted malty, breadish and slight caramelish. Smooth malty, caramelish and light sweetness. Lingering medium sweet caramelish finish.

Dark amber in color, clear with a thin head. Rich aroma with lots of strong malts and good balance with the hops. Lots of caramel and dark roast flavor. This was a very good beer.

Sample at Dog and Pony. Clear dark amber, frothy white head. Aroma of roast malt, dark fruit, toffee, yeast gum/banana. Taste is nice with lots of dark fruit and caramel sweetness with good yeast balance and some toasted nut flavor as well. Smooth texture, soft carbonation.

Draft @ Collins Pub. Nice dark red-brown. Small tan head. Bready malts predominate. Sweet brown bread. Lots of malts sugars hanging about, which normally I wouldn’t like but I’m in the mood for now and nice for a change of pace. Not bad.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours dark amber/copper with a slight beige head. There seems to be a fruity spicy aroma. Near full bodied with sorta fizzy carb. Flavor is fruity, with some spicy hop. Enough spice to suggest xmas, but not enough to interfere with the huge malt body. But somehow it’s not all that dang sweet. And there is a hint of bitter grassiness. Very, very nicely done.
