CaptainCougar (4663), Rockville, Maryland, USA Dec 14, 2007 On tap at the 2007 GABF, I think it was labeled as an imperial porter: Nearly opaque black pour has a wispy dark tan head. Aroma of lightly smoky and roasted dark chocolate malt and dark fruits. Body starts with a good earthy dark chocolate and caramel maltiness finishing slightly more bitter and roasty with lingering dark chocolate. An enjoyable imperial porter. goldtwins (3740), Nesconset, New York, USA Oct 30, 2007 GABF 2007: Poured a very deep ruby color with a beige head. Roasty aroma with big milk chocolate notes. The flavor was fruity with a mild roast. Medium body with some warmth.. Great balance. BeerandBlues2 (2514), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Oct 26, 2007 GABF ’07. Pours black with a small, frothy, light brown head, diminishing with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (molasses, chocolate, nutty), light hops (herbs, grass), average yeast (leather, earth) with notes of smoke and vanilla. Full bodied, alcoholic texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness. kp (6200), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Oct 21, 2007 Date: 10/13/2007
