murrayswine (101), Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, USA Mar 27, 2006 Found this beer at Silver Creek, a local brewpub.
The color is darker than a typical IPA, with softer red/brown notes. The smell is rich with fragrant hops. For an American IPA, it really smells more Euro styled with less tart and more bitters. It has a subtle nut tone as well. The first taste is heavy hops, walnut, and slight bitter lemon, over all a damn fine beer, that’s highly drinkable....If you can get the damn thing.
couchand (164), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Mar 17, 2008 Amber to red. Almost clear. Some creamy white head.
Fruity hop aroma, spicy.
Bitter, alcoholic, and spicy flavor, but clears quickly, inviting another sip. Skyview (3060), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Jul 23, 2007 Sampled on draught at the brewpub in Cedarburg, Wisconsin. Pours a clear reddish amber brew with a thick and creamy off-white head that slowly dissolves that leaves behind an excellent lacing and lumpy head top. Aroma of sweet grapefruit and plenty of it. Other scents picked up are orange zest and some caramel malt. Taste is medium bodied, very light carbonation with more grapefruit, sweet toffee with a piney character. Finish is extreme bitter, piney and some light caramel malt aftertaste. When doing a flight sampler at the brewpub, try this one last. The bitterness is so over-powering, the taste buds may need some recharging. prosqtor (408), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA Nov 24, 2007 Good. From the tap at the brewpub. English in style, with a nearly opaque copper color and thick creamy head. Nice hop crispness, but smooth and sessionable. esjaygee (918), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Oct 12, 2008 On tap at Silver Creek Brewpub. Dark copper with a thin off white head. Aroma of caramel, citrus, dough, earthy hops and a touch of sourness. Taste of caramel, citrus, sugar and mild pine. Decently balanced with a mild bitter finish.
