On tap at Silver Creek Brewpub. Served a little too chilled in a snifter, so I had an Oktoberfest to kill the time until this one warmed up a bit. And when it did warm up, I was blown away by it. Dark brown with a slowly dissipating tan head. Aroma of roasted and dark and roasted malt, fruit, chocolate and sugar. Taste of chocolate, roasted malt, plum/cherry, wood, caramel, sugar and light coffee. It seems every time I have a Baltic Porter I am in for something different and this one was no exception. I thoroughly enjoyed this one and would (will) make the half hour trip to Cedarburg again in the near future.

Pours a dark brown almost black colour. Head is fairly large, beige. Aroma is definately porter like, but i dont know if i would go as far as saying spiced. Or the taste either. Slightly metallicy, the only spice i can faintly pick up was a hint of clove. Other then that, a classic porter taste, but a little weak.

Dark mahogany, some off-white head, small. Big thick sweet malty aroma. Full and lively palate. Sweet roastiness, coffee, burnt notes, some caramel.

Tasty! My first exposure to a Baltic Porter, on tap at the brewpub. Less aroma and not as obvious and heavy with the coffee as most porters, but very well-balanced and perfect for a cold crisp day.

On tap at the brewpub on 6/21/07: Pours a mostly opaque with dark mahogany edges and a small, creamy tan head. Aroma of sweet dark caramel and milk chocolate with a hint of smoke. Body starts with a rich dark caramel viscosity and good mild plum complexity toward a lingering bittersweet roasty dark chocolate finish. A nice Baltic porter.

Thanks to Blake for bringing the growler! Poured very deep brown, almost black, with a nice initial cap of yellowy-beige head.. left a light ring after a couple minutes. The aroma picked up lots of deeply-roasted dark chocolate and dark fruits.. a subtle smoke accent worked very well. The flavor picked up well-roasted darker fruits and semi-sweet chocolate at the core, with some cocoa powder hitting on the back-end.. mild sourness as well back there.. good stuff! Medium-bodied with a creamy malt backing and bitter coffee accents.. lots of fruity notes in there.. I very much enjoyed it!

black, fine tan head, strong dry dark chocolate aroma, rich chocolate flavor, sweet caramel brings out the rich chocolate, just a hint of roasted offers some balance,

Sampled on draught at the brewpub in Cedarburg, Wisconsin. Pours an opaque dark brown brew with a thick and creamy off-white head that slowly dissolves to a fine film and ring. Aroma of light roasted coffee, dark chocolate, and some flowery/grassy hops. Taste is heavy (full bodied), sweet with very little carbonation, with dark chocolate and molasses flavors. Finish is smooth, creamy with a slight dark malt flavor.
