Pours to a dark brown/black body with a dense bubble-spotted tan head. The flavor is pretty tasty. Chocolate, roasty malts, dark fruits, really deep roasty black patent. Very well balanced components. The aroma is roasty black patent and barley. The palate is rich, sweet, roasty, lightly smokey.

dark pour thick tan head, weak lacing. Overly burnt coffee bottom of the pot aroma, w/ coccoa powder. Palate is very average. Flavor is bittersweet coccoa, very dry some nice roasty malts. A pretty good tasting porter.

On tap at the brewpub. Pint pour. Opaque dark brown color with a small tan head . The aroma is big and rich with mocha, chocolate, roasted grains and some sweetened coffee. The taste is similar to the nose, lots of dark roasted grains, mocha and some spicy raisins and dates. The palate is full and smooth with lively carbonation. Finishes long and slightly sweet. overall: Very impressive, very tasty.

Draft at the source. Deep brown-black pour with tan head. Aroma is gentle roasted malt with some decent dark fruit esters, caramel, and nutty toasted malt. Flavor is a clean chocolate roast with more caramel and nutty toasted biscuit. Trail of faint dark fruit. Lingering clean, coffee-type roasted malt. Would agree with a previous rater’s opinion of Baltic-type qualities and clean profile. Nice showing.

Pours a dark brown almost black colour. Head is fairly large, beige. Aroma is definately porter like, but i dont know if i would go as far as saying spiced. Or the taste either. Slightly metallicy, the only spice i can faintly pick up was a hint of clove. Other then that, a classic porter taste, but a little weak.

Tap. Sweet raisin and chocolate syrup aroma with a roasty bite. Black body under a dark tan head. Smooth dark chocolate, plum and coffee bean in teh flavor. Smooth, velvety mouthfeel. Wraps up with raisin and espresso. A wonderfully fruity, sweet espresso-like porter.

Tulip at brewpub. Nice frothy tan head. Dark cola body.
Aroma has licorice, roast wood, grape jam.
Nice sticky roasty licorice flavor, stale wet wood, odd un-porter like sweetness (but good, maybe a baltic porter?). Honey? Earthy hops with roasty and slight coffee in the finish.
This is a great beer… a nice introduction to Silver Creek.

I’d had this beer last year at a festival, and I’d been wanting to visit Silver Creek ever since. The brewpub is very cool, and this beer is quite unique, offering a lot of bourbon character in place of the rich roastiness most commonly found in this style.
It was served in a brandy glass or tulip and was opaque with an inviting tan head. Presentation was very wine-like. Smell was rather bourbon-y. Flavor was a bourbon and oak flavor. It was good, but wasn’t the quite dry roastiness I’ve come to associate with better porters. Mouthfeel is that of large and uneven bubbles. It is quite unusual, but I didn’t love it.
