On tap @ Firetap. Clear copper with a creamy off white head. Aroma of toasty english malt and some light lemon/citrus and herbal hops. Flavor is smooth and malty with a medium to low hop bitterness. Medium body with average carbonation and a creamy mouth feel. I would classify this as an English style Pale, but a good, solid beer none the less.

The Silver Gulch Brewing Company is located in Fairbanks, Alaska and produces some very good beers that rival those of the Midnight Sun Brewing Company and the Alaskan Brewing Company. This one is no exception.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 AmazonMatt (285) - PANAMA - SEP 7, 2005
Hmm.....poured a copper color with an off-white head. Aroma is of orange peel and fresh pine twigs. The high notes are hops, piney American, and mostly all you are gettting is hops. Good, and bitter, which I like, but lacking a bit in complexity...maybe, dare I say, too much hops?

(Draft: Silver Gulch Brewing Co. in Fox, Alaska) Mildly malty and lightly fruity, but the emphasis is clearly on the Cascade hops. Lots of grapefruit and fairly bitter. Same hop flavor as the Summer Ale, but more intense, and with a long-lasting, bitter finish. The nose is more balanced, but mostly because the hops aroma is a big lighter. Medium body, clean and crisp on the palate. Light amber color. Off-white head is large and frothy -- one large chunk of foam that shows excellent retention. Good, but wow, you have to like hops.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 aracauna (2855) - Georgia, USA - JUN 25, 2005
Light copper, clear, in color. Big, soupy head. Bit of pine resin aroma, touch of malt. Bright, citrusy flavor in front, fairly malty middle and a bracingly bitter finish.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Marc (485) - Yokosuka, JAPAN - OCT 29, 2004
Clear, red/amber with a thin fring of foam and a big herbal, resinouse hop nose with touches of grainy malt coming through. Grainy mouthfeel with more resinous hops. A touch of citrus is quickly overtaken by deep malts and herbal and grassy bitterness. Gets more floral as it warms and grain becomes more pronounced. Not bad at all

On tap at the 2004 Great Alaska Beer and Barley Wine Festival. Golden yellow with a floral hop nose and a foamy white head. Orange peel, apple fruit tastes with a pine hop finish. Solid, hoppy APA and a good session beer.
